シェフお勧めコース料理のお肉がベーコンでした。 ステーキかと思ってました。1人145ドルでベーコンってないでしょう!英語通じないからでしょうか?

Went with my friend the day before Valentine's Day for the tasting menu. Service was average, but kudos to the lovely hostess who acknowledged special request for our reservations, and wondering why the dining room servers not paying attention to details like the hostess. Overall the tasting menu was of average quality, nothing of vow factors comparing to my first dining experience years ago here. In particular, the main course European Sea Bass was quite dry, and not sure why it was complemented with chickpeas and salsa like sauces, not quite the chemistry! We have asked the bus boy for taking our picture, but he said he would ask our server who showed up only when serving us the 3 courses, and at the end, the bus boy took the picture for us. Yes, we completed the 3 courses and the pictures, but we both didn't feel completed with a good dining experience!

I accompanied a friend to this restaurant where we opted for the chef's menu paired with Canadian wine. The total bill, including tips, amounted to $700. At $350 per person, having experienced several top French restaurants globally, I anticipated a certain level of quality. However, the reality fell short. The ambiance was overly loud with tables crammed closely, offering no privacy. The food was disappointingly average, lacking any standout courses, while the wine selection failed to complement most dishes. Service was minimal, with waitstaff providing cursory explanations and seldom checking in. Despite the steep $100 tip, the experience left me questioning its high ratings. I'd recommend opting for a genuine Michelin 3-star experience, even at $900 per person, as it undoubtedly offers superior value compared to this establishment.

We had the Chef's menu with Premium wine pairing. The overall experience was good. Most of the dishes are very good, very tasty. Service is exceptional, A bit pricey in my opinion.

As usual L'Abbatoir does not disappoint! My wife and I experienced excellent food and service. Although we no longer live in close proximity to Gastown, we will always make it a point to visit this establishment at least 4 times a year.

One of the best dinners we've ever had. Matthew, our server was attentive to every detail. Andrew, the sommelier perfectly described all of the wines we had and the pairing with the food was outstanding. We enjoyed every one of the many dishes that we ordered. Really cannot say enough about the dinner. it simply was fantastic.

Extremely nice place! Very romantic! Food tastes great! Outstanding service, especially the sommelier, who really, really knew his stuff. Would go back just for him. So, if you have a special occasion, or just want an amazing dining experience, L'Abattoir is the place to go. Definitely will go back.

Response to the manager:A. I was told there were no other "alternative courses". Therefore I wasn't given an option.B. I did have the dessert that was already included with the menu, no "pre-dessert"C. I did mention the drink that was offered to me and am thankful for that.D: I was told that the main meal, which I did not eat, was not "able to be removed from the bill"... we did pay for the drinks that we drank minus the one that was offered to us.Their response further proves my point that the restaurant is "too good" for it's customers. I have eaten in many fine dinning restaurants and have never felt this way! I will not be contacting your restaurant, nor will I ever return. It's decent but not GREAT! The manager's customer service isn't #1 so that severely tarnishes my experience. Long story short, I couldn't eat one of the meals so I asked for a different one as a replacement, which they couldn't accommodate, so I said "no worries" and asked the meal to be discounted and apparently that "wasn't possible" either... Was given a drink but the whole situation was very off-putting. I won't be returning. Our server was amazing though! :D

One of the best restaurants in Vancouver. The food was really good. We loved the smoked steelhead trout (with an incredible country loaf!) and the ice cream cake.

Everything about this restaurant was a step above - the service from each staff member was unpretentious and friendly, the food was top notch (the bread service, as many other reviewers have recommended, is a must get), the prices are reasonable given the high quality of the ingredients, and the restaurant design is unique and beautiful. This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver.

Came here one night for a birthday, we made reservations for the chef's menu, however upon being seated we were informed that they had already sold out of the chefs menu for the night. This was very disappointing because the chefs menu was the purpose of our visit, especially being for a birthday was a large disappointment. I don't really understand the point of the reservation system and requesting the chefs menu upon the reservation if they are going to sell out and not reserve it.We ended up ordering a la carte. We got the bread service, baked pacific oysters, terrine duck foie gras, sablefish, and steak diane. We also requested a wine pairing for each course from the sommelier. The bread service was phenomenal, it was like a croissant but had thin slices in it so its was very crunchy and it was accompanied with a very tart berry spread that was a delightful pairing. The baked oysters were not to my liking, it was very creamy and just not what I am used to for oysters. The foie gras was also a let down, it was very fruity and didn't really highlight the foie gras. It also came with a bunch of weird jellies and things that felt disconnected. This dish was primarily focused on presentation and not flavors. The sablefish was good but nothing special from any other restaurant. The steak diane was good, but it was served with 3 different types of sauces which again lead to a confusing, not cohesive dish.Overall this place was just OK. My favorite dish was the bread service. Everything else fell flat. The sommelier was very pleasant and chose great wines for us. Again, was very disappointed with the miss on the chefs menu reservation. The restaurant made zero attempt to make up for not being able to deliver on our reservation. With all that, I don't really have much desire to revisit L'Abattoir. At this price point I expect much more.

Decent overall but was expecting better from the Chef's menu. I found most sauces didn't go well with their dish. Service and desserts were good.

L'Abattoir was a fantastic dining experience with very accommodating service by the staff. The food was also exquisite with little choice for food selection but the limited number made it easier for us to choose from. For appetizers: the baked oyster is something we were talked into getting and it was definitely worth it--very fatty with the truffle and garlic. We also ordered the Japanese hamachi which was also tasty (almost felt like a ceviche). We also got the bread and butter/tomato paste sauce which was tiny but delicious. For mains: we got the sablefish, bluefin tuna (highly recommend), steak (also highly recommend), and the gnocchi. The bluefin cuts were of great proportion for the price point. The steak was about 6oz split in half but cooked to perfection.

This was a really great meal! We were in from Los Angeles, and stumbled across this place. It was so good, that we booked again for later this week for the tasting menu! Highly recommend!
