The only thing I don’t love about The Lunch Lady is that it isn’t closer to Calgary! Everything else was absolutely top notch. The food, the service, and the overall vibe were outstanding.

Our server recommended the three-layer dessert, and it was phenomenal. I’ve been craving that pandan coffee, which quickly became a favourite. Every dish was just as impressive as the last. No wonder there was a lineup of people outside.

Had a spectacular experience at The Lunch Lady a few weeks ago. I was there as a walk-in with a large party of friends from out of town (I lined up 20mins before they opened) and were able to get seated at the bar relatively fast.
The 2-person family style menu is a perfect way to get to know The Lunch Lady. It’s well-paced and thoughtfully crafted with diverse flavours and textures. The carpaccio is a must-try, I think about it all the time.

This is a very famous Vancouver spot that’s very hard to get a seat in without a reservation. They clearly have a sense of their own popularity: the woman barked that “you can only stay till 7:30” once we arrived. The food was fine. It was nothing special. The menu is more interesting and unique than what you’d see at typical Vietnamese place, but I don’t think I’d go through all the hassle of trying to get a table again — especially at these prices.
