I found this little gem tonight. Their Pozole is excellent. Noe was my server. He provided great personable service. The ambience is great. I recommend checking this little restaurant out. I will be a returning customer.

Machete Mexican Ancestral: Vancouver's Taste of True Mexico! ??If you're craving authentic Mexican food in Vancouver, look no further than Machete Mexican Ancestral! This place gets a resounding five stars from me. Here's why:Ancestral Flavors: Machete takes you on a culinary journey to Mexico with their focus on traditional recipes and fresh, high-quality ingredients. It's a taste of real Mexico, not the Tex-Mex fare you often find elsewhere.Handmade Goodness: Their signature dish, the long quesadilla (basically a machete!), is a revelation. Handmade tortillas made from authentic Mexican corn cradle delicious fillings like chorizo, plantains, or mezcal-lime chicken. Every bite is a fiesta!Healthy Twist: Machete cleverly combines tradition with healthy options. Their focus on organic corn and fresh ingredients makes you feel good about indulging in their flavorful dishes.Friendly Fiesta: The staff at Machete are as warm and welcoming as the food itself. They're happy to answer questions and help you navigate the menu, making your dining experience even more enjoyable.A Hidden Gem: Located on Main Street, Machete offers a casual and vibrant atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a quick lunch, a fun dinner with friends, or a taste of Mexico on the go.Machete Mexican Ancestral is more than just a restaurant - it's an experience. Do yourself a favor and skip the generic chains. Head to Machete and discover the true flavors of Mexico!

The food today, was absolutely wonderful, healthy Mexican was greatly delivered and to her telling me she is a dietition, oh no kidding healthy, food was delicious in everyway, fresh, flavourful, colorful and made some great recommendation, the Pork Pastor, and two Chicken tacos, absolutely wonderful, delicious, it will be one of the Vancouver foodstops. A good ending to a beautiful day before the rain.

Not the kind of Mexican food we were expecting. Food Lacked flavor. Corn in esquite seemed underdone and the machete wasn’t that great. First time tried pozol but didn’t like it. Coconut lemonade was so much better. Flan was bit dense than other places I’ve had.

Not many options in the area, so we thought we'd give this a try and so glad we did. If you want really good authentic Mexican food, you need to try it too. We all tried their namesake the Machete and made it half and half. We were a little disappointed with chicken half, but all the rest were soooo good. We started with nachos, which is one of the best I've ever had. FYI, they don't serve alcohol.

What more can we say? It’s really hard to get unbelievably homemade authentic Mexican food that has such cultural aspects. We met the owner, and she was absolutely adorable. She treated us to a taco and we had only come in for dessert. We will definitely come back. I think we may have found one of our favorite places in Vancouver.
Amazing experience, I’m from Mexico and I really felt that I was eating back there! The best Mexican restaurant in Vancouver.

So happy to have stumbled upon this hole in the wall. People were so nice, ingredients were fresh, so many vegetarian options, and amazing drinks. And when they put it all together it just WORKS! Will be back to try more of the menu :-)

Really great flavours on the dishes we shared: Yuca Fries, Esquites (unreal with the hot sauce added) and Birra Machete. The hot chocolate and mocha were a nice treat as well.
