Great little Mexican place one block from the Main St SkyTrain station. It's a cozy little nook with unique decor. The menu is incredibly delicious and their namesake, the machete, is a machete sized quesadilla which is amazing. They even have a chef's choice option where you'll get whatever the chef feels like for toppings. Lots of other great options too and all their corn tortillas are hand made by themselves. I was surprised by this spot - really different menu options than the usual Tex mex style Mexican food you find. The machetes (large quesadillas) were massive, so tasty and filling. The fresh made blue corn tortilla was stand out. The elotes were so good - so much cheese and the type of corn used was really good - less sweet and really tasty.

Definitely order less than you think you’ll need, and come hungry.

If you are looking for a place that proves Mexican food can be both delicious and nourishing, this spot hits all the marks. The menu contains fresh and most importantly healthy ingredients, lean proteins, and plant based options.
