Our experience at Maria’s Taverna was nothing short of spectacular. We’ve tried a few Greek restaurants in the city and this was by far our favourite. The kleftiko was heavenly, portions were huge, and atmosphere so welcoming and homey. Will definitely be back!

Not a large restaurant but clean and excellent quality food. From the starter dips, fresh bread, to the seafood that is so fresh and seasoned perfectly. The sides of salads, rice and potatoes are equally well made. And the price point for the food and it being in Kitsilano is very reasonable. Service is very attentive. Overall an excellent choice.
Maria's is my GO-TO for greek food that is healthy, hearty and mouth watering. Me and my girlfriend had to limit ourselves to coming 2x per month because we are addicted to the combination platter. The Bread, tzatziki, greek salad, Lamb, keftedes, mousaka, all of it is the best meal you can get and splits perfectly for 2 people. Beyond the food the service is INCREDIBLE. The team treats you like family and I MEAN IT. I have been here for family events, birthdays, infinite dates with my girlfriend and perfect for bringing out of towners too. Everybody's cravings will be satisfied here. Shayan is a beacon of light at this location and his charisma and energy are infectious. He is without a doubt the best server I have had at any restaurant in my life. After coming here for the last 3 years I consider the whole team family! The atmosphere transports you to the Mediterranean and the music and liveliness is nurturing for the soul! I cannot recommend this place enough. The location in the heart of Kits is fantastic and it's hard to miss such a legendary restaurant. GO NOW! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!
This place feels so cozy and welcoming - almost like being at home. The portions are incredibly generous and everything tastes amazing. Whether I dine in or grab takeout, they never disappoint. I always bring my friends here, and I highly recommend it!

The food and service were great as usual. I gave the atmosphere only two stars because upon arrival, I noticed a manager sitting on one of the dining room tables and having an online meeting with no earphones. He was loud, and we could hear the whole conversation. Should have left as soon as the restaurant welcomed its first table.

Disappointing experience this time around. I was looking forward to ordering their lamb but it tasted like a chuck beef roast at best, and my friend found a HUGE stick of CINNAMON in their pasta! Who the heck puts cinnamon in their bolognese???! Bolognese tasted gross and I’m Being nice about it. Rice, however was, delicious and this is the only reason why I give them 2 stars. Disaster.

Was there with my friend few days ago. Food was good, but broke my tooth because of the seed inside the olive and had to spend 400 cad for the dentist after that lunch.. if you guys serve olives with seeds inside the salad - you have to warn your clients about it
