Fantastic value for the price. Honestly try this restaurant out.---This is a fantastic restaurant. Local and delicious. Their Hawaiian pizza is great! Also enjoy their Greek platter for 2.I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great portion sizes, various options for sharing platters/appetizers both hot and cold. Service was prompt and kind, no issues. My dish was the keftedes platter - best thing on the plate was the rice: fluffy, flavourful and fantastic. The keftedes were seasoned well, had a nice grill/charcoal taste but a smidge dryVegetarian options: Veggie options available: spinach baklava, Greek salad, various dips

This used to be my wife's and mine favourite Greek restaurant, particularly for its great and welcoming service. Until tonight. I ordered online 2 times kleftiko and asked for rice to be substituted by potatoes. First, when I came to pick it up, the less than enthusiastic server wanted to charge me for the order I already paid online. I then had a feeling that the bag was too small for 2 orders. Luckily, I checked and there was only one. I was then waiting for another half hour. I was clearly not their priority. I was standing near the cashier, pushed by passing servers from left and right as I was clearly in their way. Nobody offered me a chair or a glass of water while I was waiting. When I finally got the second order (without much of an apology) and took it home, I realized that the order was all wrong, with more rice than potatoes. The so-called Greek salad was pathetic. This is what I call a thoroughly ruined Friday night.

The Greek salad is very refreshing. There are three different ways to make minced beef. There is also an unnamed bowl of gratin that is delicious and non-greasy. Each dish has lemon slices to help digestion.
Stopped for a dinner on the way home from running some errands… definitelly worth it!Awesome and fast service and so tasty food!! We had a lamb moussaka and grilled halibut (served with fresh greek salad, rice and lemon potatoes), both seasoned to perfection. Halibut was nicely grilled - most importantly not dry. Pita with whipped butter was a great appetizer.We’ll be definitely back!Thank you

We went to Maria’s Taverna in Kitsilano for Dine Out Vancouver. Everything was really outstanding! The staff was attentive and friendly throughout the visit despite the restaurant being full! The chicken soup had big chunks of tender chicken & orzo and was so tasty! The expertly seasoned lamb shoulder was roasted perfectly with the meat falling off the bone! The lemon roasted potatoes, bread and rice were so delicious! The Greek salad was made of very fresh vegetables with a generous amount of feta! The bougatsa was hot out of the oven-crispy filo pastry, creamy custard filling with a dusting of cinnamon. I love doing Dine Out Vancouver because it helps us find wonderful gems like Maria’s Taverna! Thanks again, Maria’s!

I was recommended to this Greek Taverna (GT) by an acquaintance from years past. There used to be an excellent GT called Panos. It was a smash hit on their Lamb Shoulder, Calamari and Moussaka. These 3 were my 'goto' dishes. The Service: very good & friendly with a smile. My acquaintance was quite familiar with Panos too, and so I was told 'they make these dishes' just like Panos. Had the urge, to at least try it out, and get my fix. Not comparable, sorry my friend. however.... The lamb shoulder dish was good. The calamari appetizer was very good, not over deep-fried and very tender inside. The moussaka? in a bowl/cup? Nope Doesn't make the cut. It's not even to be considered as traditional moussaka. The lemon greek potatoes?, overcooked and too wet just too small - even with them cut in half. Greek potatoes? using small potatoes?? Nope doesnt make the cut. I will stick to my present 'goto' spot for lamb, moussaka n potatoes. ;)
