This is my new favourite place to get breakfast in Vancouver. Great service and good food with friendly staff.
It's worth taking your time here to notice the details like the art on the walls, or the kintsugi repaired teacups. This is a hidden gem for sure.

My favourite place for onigiri in Vancouver. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and you can really taste the care and passion they have in the omurice. I want to keep coming back here to try all the types. I liked my garlic cheese tomato one! And the matcha latte was great too.

A small, unassuming shop with pretty good and budget-friendly omurice, but there were flies constantly flying around inside the restaurant.

Would come again! I realy liked the tiramisu. Some might find it too bitter, but I was quite happy it wasn’t overly sweet.

Loved the hiyashi omurice. The waffles were amazing also. I love the prices and the fact they offer smaller sized options so you can order a bunch of little things like a side salad and half waffle.

I ordered the hamburger Japanese curry omu-rice, matcha vanilla latte, and caramel macchiato.

Both beverages tasted great. Matcha latte used real matcha. The matcha flavour really came out. The caramel macchiato was also very tasty. The coffee was different but was very smooth and caramel was not too sweet. Lots of whipped cream on top which is to my preference.

The hamburger steak curry really reminded me of Japan. The owner and server were both Japanese and the food reflects their heritage. Curry was tasty but not spicy at all. I would've actually liked a bit of a kick. The hamburger steak could've had more flavour. I'm not sure if they make their own meat patties or purchases them, but it does seem like it was pre-frozen and reheated. Fresh patties would be softer and juicer, so I wish they could change that. Omu-rice could also be a bit runnier for the eggs, but taste was good overall. I really enjoyed it and would order again.

The atmosphere is probably the only issue. The moving ceiling fan and low lighting made me feel like I was in a room about to interrogate a psychopath killer. Seats are tight and the walls could be refurbished. From the outside I couldn't even see the name of the restaurant. Very hole-in-the-wall style. Maybe that's what they're going for, but not really a place I would sit for long. Was in and out in about 45 mins. You order and pay right after being seated, which is also different from regular restaurants.

Would recommend for those looking for nostalgic Japanese food.

The food is decent, but the space could really benefit from a deep clean. It seems like the upkeep has been overlooked for a while.
