What a find!! Nestled amongst a thick patch of non-descript West Broadway concrete buildings with a heavy scent of Japanese curry thick on the air, is this true gem of a Japanese restaurant! I could tell from the clientele and the staff running the joint that I was in for a treat. The service was very warm and friendly and hospitable, and the dishes were very flavourful, colorful, and unique. Take for example the sushi donut! You got to try it for yourself.
I have tried Uma Sushi during one of their private catering dinner event in West Van. I cannot really gauge the atmosphere since I have not been to their physical restaurant. The owner/chef was young, vibrant, and friendly which was good. The food was fresh, flavorful, and had very good presentation. Wasabi they used was gritty, which is good since its fresh.

Sushis were excellent!We took the diner for two which had a chicken donburi perfect for our two little kids. We added a tuna tataki sushi and dragon rolls. They were soooo good, specially the tuna tataki.
