The valentines dinner was amazing as all of their food ALWAYS is. The service was spectacular - hands down. The drinks were inspired and the food was to die for. When we visit Vancouver we always visit our favorite spot.

We had a fantastic evening at Maxine's. I forgot how much I love this place, but it's even better with the new menu. The butternut squash appy was delicious and creative and the sole was devine. Had to bring home dessert because the portions were so generous!

We usually love Maxine's - it's one of our go-to brunch spots. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark. We made a reservation to ensure we could secure a good spot, however we were seated directly next to the patio door and had to keep our coats on because of the breeze. When we asked to move, there was no other spot available other than the bar. That aside, we decided to stay put. When our food came, it was really disappointing. I ordered the Avocado dish, which was supposed to come with a "crispy fried egg", but the egg had runny whites and was not at all what I expected. The avocado fritter was stringy and brown on the inside as well. When we were asked by someone who I believe was the manager on the floor if our food was okay, I explained the situation - he apologized and cleared our plates, but never revisited our table afterwards. We were really hoping for a nice mother-daughter brunch but unfortunately did not enjoy our experience here.

We are regular customers at Maxine's. Last night when we arrived, the hostess offered us a table on the patio where she proceeded to sit us next to a dog that was taking up all the space between the table next to us, as well, it wasn't the nicest smelling dog. We waited some time before the hostess came over to take our drink order which was fine because our server was busy. Everything was ok, until we waited about 40 minutes for our entrees. When we finished our meal, our server persuaded us to stay for dessert. Right after we ordered dessert, the hostess came to ask us to move because there was a large party coming next to us. We refused to move as it wasn't our fault that there were such long delays in greeting us and receiving our entrees, and the fact that our server encouraged us to stay for dessert. We felt this request was very rude on the part of the hostess and should never requested us to move. In the meantime, they invited the large party to to table next to us of which some of the guests were standing around next to our table, where we felt unwelcome and pressured to leave. Not the experience at Maxine's.

My girlfriends and I have been coming here every couple of months to reunite and catch up over friend chicken and a bottle of wine. Lovely ambiance and really nice staff. Would recommend this place for any occasion!

Best service we've had here!! Food is always great-really love the Eggplant Parm. As vegetarians, it's difficult to find great Italian meals that aren't just pasta and sauce. The new house sparkling is not good. Would love to see you go back to your original when supply is back up again.

The ABSOLUTE WORST Hapoy Hoir menu, selection, preparation, taste, and value in the city. No wonder there were only 2 other tables in the entire space. The wait staff had NO idea how to make our horrible experience better, and watched us as we made a reservation at a competitive restaurant after we sent everything ordered that was inedible back. Then they had the audacity to charge us for the drinks we didn't even finish??!! Fully evict you to be closed down before summer patio season. 10 thumbs down!

I took my husband here for a birthday breakfast and we had the most delightful experience. Our server, Alora, and several other staff members dropped by our table to inquire about our plans for the day. One shared her positive thoughts on coming from Ukraine, we were asked if we enjoyed our brunch choices, and they even surprised us with complimentary hot chocolates and candles in our French toast. This is an upscale, inclusive, exquisitely styled bistro where the experience is just as important as the divinely prepared food. We will be back with friends to share the warmth and the feeling that can only be described as authentically curated. Do it - your pallets and psyche will thank me.

The prices of the dishes reflect the quality of ingredients. Definitely make a reservation, as it's a popular restaurant. Parking is street parking, good luck if you're driving to find a free spot.
