I celebrated my birthday breakfast at Maxine's, my second time dining for breakfast. I enjoyed the delicious food, attentive customer service, the lively atmosphere. The prices of the dishes reflect the quality of ingredients. Definitely make a reservation, as it's a popular restaurant. Parking is street parking, good luck if you're driving to find a free spot.
Our previous two visits featured impeccable service so we were very disappointed this time with a waitress who was very personable but obviously needed training in table service. I ordered a second glass of wine but she forgot and it came much later in the meal than I would have preferred. We ordered from the sharing menu but it took a long time for the last two dishes to come and the scallops should have been served earlier than the meatballs. She asked if we were finished (when...
Food was good and nice environment, however we didn't feel welcome when the hostess canceled our reservation in front of us and said next time we need to book 45 minutes ahead. The restaurant was empty by then. Server was very kind and helpful accommodating the stroller.
