This place is definitely a gem. Have been meaning to try this place for a while, but OMG! It's not a fancy place, but food is outstanding. Prices were very reasonable. Service was great ?! Entire Japanese staff, so it's quite authentic. Parking was easy, there was parking right up front. I would definitely go back to try other stuff.

Udon and aburi salmon were delicious. The employees are very friendly. The venue design looks very classy. Michelin deserving restaurant!

I had the udon with beef brisket and egg swirls. The udon texture and taste was great, but the beef brisket's strong flavour over powered it.Next time I will order the tempura wakame udon for the clear broth.I also ordered the salmon roe inari sushi, unfortunately the inari bean curd skin was too sweet and over powered the salmon roe.

The best udon in Vancouver. The food here is even better than most udon restaurants in Japan.

The tempura udon was delicious, but the udon had no chewiness at all. Is it made to suit Canadian tastes? I thought.

Absolutely yummy and it is the most authentic udon you can find in Vancouver. I can confidently repeat that after I tried Marugame udon that just opened downtown. This udon has Koshi(chewiness) that I love. Avoid marugame and go to this place!!

The food is pretty good, but the price charged for the portion of the eggplant ohitashi is ridiculous. It's $6 for less than 50g of eggplant. Why even skimp on eggplant, it's not even an expensive ingredient! The mere cents of costs saved on eggplant costs you much more in customer dissatisfaction...There has also been a slight dip in quality and overall reduction in portion sizes. I hope it doesn't continue because these are usually the first signs of steady long-term decline.. this place used to be exceptional.

I just love the veggie Inari...the umeshiso, ?eggplant and shitake tempura Inari. Soooo ooeeeshi ?. My husband likes the tuna and the salmon.Domo arigato MOTONOBU UDON?

The food was mediocre, but the washroom was disgusting. The floor was super dirty and slippery. The side plates were not properly cleaned and dried. The hygiene standard at this restaurant was really questionable. I'm not sure why this restaurant can even be on the list for the Michelin guide recommended places.

Came in on a busy Friday night and the hostess found a seat for me in just a few minutes. As expected it's really all about the noodles which were perfect, silk outside and a good bouncy chew on the inside. The broth offset this perfectly, light, clean and flavourful. A small shake of Japanese chili and it set it off perfectly. Mine selection came with 2 large thin slices of beef brisket.which was tender and delicious! I did try the inari sushi which I really enjoyed (I like inari to begin with). If you are really hungry you can get another 150g of noodles but I was stuffed with the helping I had. Recommended!

There are very few udon specialty restaurants in metro van. So we came over despite the 30 min drive. I picked a less busy time to come on the weekend, 2pm ish and it was great. Parking in the street was convenient, and we got seated right away. One thing I didn't like though, was that there were multiple doors that were partly open the entire time, and that made both us and the food cold. She shop was medium sized end the servers were friendly. The menu has a decent variety of both soup and dry udon along with a few unique aburi sushi opens. We tried one of the popular items in each of these categories and was generally impressed. I particularly enjoyed the dry mixed udon (forgot the actual name). But it was flavorful and wholesome. Very likely to be back again. Whenever we crave udon. Food 9, Service 7, Ambiance 7, Value 8

A busy place, obviously popular! Arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, didn't have to wait long for a table.Actually a Japanese restaurant, run by Japanese, not another Asian ethnicity. The food was good, a nice change from the usual Japanese fare you get in Vancouver.A bit pricier than what I felt was worth.3 of us eating, no drinks, 3 meals 3 sides, just over $80 including tip.Would I go back...yes, but not often, as above my ability to what I can comfortably afford for a lunch.Vegetarian options: Only 1 vegetarian option, cold noodle dish, but they can give you warm noodles instead. Good flavour. Extremely limiting, if you cannot eat fish, as there is Dashi in EVERY other meal option.
