Had an amazing time coming to Motonobu! The food has always been delicious, one of the better spots to bring people out of town to eat! Been here multiple times and every visit has been pleasent! Only downside is the waiters/waitresses can be inattentive at times. Overall though, Motonobu is a great spot to celebrate milestones at!
For a specialized udon place, this was unfortunately disappointing. The noodles were soft and lacked the bounce and chew you’d expect from good udon. The broth leaned heavily salty with very little depth, and the meat options didn’t do much to redeem the dish. Considering the price, it felt especially underwhelming.
The inari sushi was the bright spot—my partner really enjoyed the eggplant sushi, which saved the meal a bit.

I’m shocked anyone would give them less than 5 stars. Their udon is amazing. I have taken Japanese people here who feel it compares with Japan. Even Michelin recognized it. Every aspect of their soup is the best I’ve had in Vancouver.
