Delicious food...
Fried momos were delicious, as were the chili fries. Two people ordered the Masala Tea and loved it. Delicious lamb/mutton biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala... We ordered medium spice level and it was delicious, not uncomfortable at all.
The 2 appetizers and 2 mains were plenty for 3 of us. Leftovers were equally delightful.

We visited Mount Everest in downtown Vancouver last night, and while the interiors are simple and understated, the food truly steals the show.
Before we even placed our order, we were served a warm lentil soup, essentially dal, which we believe was complimentary. It was a small but thoughtful touch and immediately set the mood for the meal. Comforting, homely, and very welcoming.
We went in wanting to explore Nepalese cuisine beyond the usual and were initially considering thukpa. Instead, we ordered the Jhol Momos, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. These were vegetable momos served in a thick, korma-style gravy that was rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. It is a complete meal in itself and unlike anything we have tasted before.
For appetizers, we tried the Chicken Sekuwa, one of the restaurant’s bestsellers. It is a Nepalese-style grilled chicken dish, somewhat reminiscent of chicken tikka but with its own distinct flavour. Smoky, well spiced, and beautifully cooked. We also ordered the Indo-Chinese Paneer Chilli, which was surprisingly good, with crispy paneer, balanced heat, and not overly saucy.
Overall, Mount Everest may not impress with flashy décor, but if you are looking for authentic Nepalese flavours, comforting food, and something a little different, this place absolutely delivers. We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
Photos uploaded of the dishes we ordered, along with the exterior of the restaurant to help you spot it easily from the street.

Mt. Everest Garden and Grill is one of those rare finds that quietly becomes your place.
I first discovered it online while searching for a spot for our monthly team lunch. One visit was all it took. The food was outstanding, the portions generous, and the experience memorable enough that I brought my family back just a few days later. Since then, it’s become our go-to—whether we’re craving a great meal or hosting guests.
I may not have photos, but I don’t need them. I can honestly say that every single meal we’ve ordered has been fantastic. Consistent, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Add to that friendly, attentive service, and you’ve got a restaurant that truly gets it right.
I can’t say enough good things about Mt. Everest Garden and Grill. If I had one wish, it would be for more locations beyond downtown Vancouver—because this is the kind of place more people deserve to experience.
Highly recommended. Every time.

I had an unpleasant experience during my visit. While I was still eating, the staff began cleaning the area around me. One staff member was sweeping the floor while another was mopping at the same time. I understand it was close to closing time, but this does not create a comfortable or pleasant environment for guests who are still dining.
There was visible garbage on the floor right in front of us, which was quite off-putting while eating. If the restaurant is preparing to close, it would be more professional to clearly inform customers beforehand that no more orders will be taken or that the dining area will be closing soon.
Customer comfort and cleanliness should go hand in hand. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so the overall dining experience can be improved in the future.

Very indulgent without being fussy and pretentious. One of the more reasonably priced restaurants I ate at in the area. Chili momo’s were amazing and came with a nice garam masala sauce. Will come back next time I’m in town for sure.
We stayed in downtown Vancouver during the holidays, and have eaten dinner at several restaurants in the downtown area this week. Mount Everest Kitchen was the tastiest restaurant, hands down. Delicious food, great service and reasonably priced. My whole family voted this place tops for the week.
