I’ve been coming to Noah since they first opened, so this most recent visit was especially disappointing.
The food is still great, but the service made us feel unwelcome from the start. I was dining with friends who were all visiting Noah for the first time, including young children. While I don’t know what the waitress may have been going through that day, we were polite, said thank you, and made a conscious effort to be mindful throughout our time there. Unfortunately, the tone and comments we experienced took away from what should have been an enjoyable visit, particularly for first-time guests.
For families, it may be helpful to know that, despite confirming ahead of time that bringing children was okay, the overall attitude we encountered did not feel particularly kid-friendly.
I’ve always enjoyed Noah, which is why this experience made me think twice about returning or bringing friends in the future.

Creative, fun & fresh japanese food in an ambient, speakeasy-like environment. Very good service, server would provide explanations of each dish. Extremely flavorful food but not overpowering. I recommend every dish. A little expensive but i highly recommend, especially during the nighttime happy hour (9pm to close).

Noah’s Café is Downtown’s honest secret! Great vibes, delicious smells, and real commitment. The Uni Truffle Omelette Rice? Wow! The Eclipse cocktail is next level. Hanan Pacha and Uku Pacha flavours all together. Good stuff! Truly impressed! Will definitely visit again.

Thank you Michael and Michelle for making my birthday so special!!!! Food, service, vibes 10/10
Taking a trip downtown for my birthday and decided to choose Noah’s. Loved the ambiance and inside of the restaurant….it’s like an Aladdin’s cave when you enter.
The food was excellent and unique although would recommend sticking to the smaller dishes ….the uni butter with black focaccia and tuna tataki were especially good. But the uni crème pasta was overpriced for the small portion, and their take on okonomiyaki was a miss unfortunately… both dishes were on the salty side
Whilst I would recommend trying this unique restaurant out, I would say that the service was very lukewarm. She seemed to go through the motions of doing her job and was more interested in speaking to the couple seated beside us. When making the reservation, we told them it was for a birthday and at no time was it ever acknowledged during the evening.
So, would recommend to friends but with caveats … personally will not return … so many other Vancouver restaurants which have better service.

A cute and comfortable tapas spot on denman with wonderful cocktails. Their smoked quail eggs, uni butter and oysters were amazing!
They also offer a rewards program which is really awesome. I will be back!

Went here last year, the food was AMAZING. Went again this Halloween and the food quality may have gone down a bit. The service was excellent, they take such good care. But the pasta we ordered was too salty. And so were the brussel sprouts.

Honestly, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Vancouver.
We had a reservation for two, yet they stuck us in a random corner at a tiny square table where we had to sit side by side like we were sharing a school desk. Meanwhile, people who came after us got normal tables, even four seaters. Nice.
Then we ordered the Brussels sprouts… which came out totally burnt and bitter. We told the server, and her entire response was just “I know.” No apology, no fix, nothing. At that point I was more shocked than angry.
If you’re looking for great food and respectful service, this is probably not the place.
Easily goes straight to the top of my Vancouver “Do Not Return” list.

We visited this restaurant recently, and honestly, it was a disappointing experience. The space inside was very small and crowded, and we were seated at a tiny spot by the wall. One of the dishes — the sprouts — was extremely bitter, almost inedible, but when we mentioned it, the server’s attitude was quite cold. There was no apology or explanation, just a simple “I know.”
It made us feel uncomfortable, and we couldn’t tell if there was some bias behind the attitude. Even if not, this kind of service leaves a really poor impression. It’s a pity, because the restaurant seems to be doing well now, and I truly hope they can show a better attitude toward their customers in the future.

What a gem! From the moment you walk in, you are warmly greeted and beautifully taken care of. From the first sip of the Japanese Greyhound cocktail, I knew we had made a great choice in coming to Noah’s. The food was amazing! We devoured our miso duck, pork loin and Brussel sprouts, the presentation was photo worthy and the flavours even better.
Will definitely return!
