I went to Akira as a sushi lover and I was loved the Rock ans Roll. The taste and quality were both amazing and it was filling. I also enjoyed the salmon sashimi. The service and atmosphere were both good also.
Great place to eat sushi
We visited Akira one evening after a walk around English Bay. It was our first time and we walked in and ordered a takeaway to eat on the beach. We had the chicken teriyaki box and a roll combo which included miso soup, california and dynamite rolls (pictured). It was incredibly nice and fast service, they offered us tea while we waited. We took our food to the beach and it was so fresh and absolutely delicious, we immediately knew we’d be returning to order from them again....read full review

Akira Sushi, located away from downtown Vancouver, offers a variety of fresh Japanese dishes. The restaurant is known for its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. The Sushi and Sashimi combo, around $40, and the Kaiseki Bento, for $46, have received praise for their taste and value. The Kaiseki Bento includes 12 items, such as uni shooters with seaweed and tangy sauce. Customers have enjoyed the salmon avocado roll, vegetable roll with black rice, and the addition of cream cheese. While the Gomoku sō men noodle was considered bland, the Engawa Aburi and scallop Aburi were found to be fresh and delicious. Akira Sushi also features unique Japanese drinks and offers a beef sukiyaki. The staff is friendly and welcoming, greeting customers kindly upon arrival. The restaurant has a spacious feel and nice presentation, although it can get warm inside. Many customers have described Akira Sushi as a wonderful little restaurant with surprisingly good food, from genmaicha to sushi and tempura. The food is always amazing, fresh, and tasty, and the service is polite and efficient, making it a must-stop during any Vancouver visit.
