The house-made biscuits make their breakfast sandos to die for! Those craggy crispy buttery edges are what dreams are made of. The only thing is that you have to get there before 10:30am.

I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich before I ate it. Unfortunately it was just too good to put down. I just had their expertly done Friday french dip and was compelled to write a review for this little downtown Vancouver gem. I normally stop in for the their black angus reuben sandwich (in my opinion one of their specialties), but had a change of heart. Not only is the owner taking your order but heās preparing everything in house as well (with help I imagine). From the gourmet pickles and artisan bread to the beautifully prepared meats, this establishment fails to disappoint. Iām unsure why theyāre so underrated. If you find yourself just after the burrard bridge in downtown Vancouver, stop in to let your taste buds live a little.

Iāve been coming here pretty regularly since I started working in the area, and thereās no doubt that this is one of the best sandwich places in the area. Although it is a bit pricey, but still, I will give them that.
However, when I came in today and asked the gentleman at the front whether the grilled cheese of the day had any pork, just to confirm as I was sharing the sandwich with a friend who had dietary restrictions due to religious beliefs, I was told (in a sarcastic tone, implying I could not read) that the sign had indicated there was only beef. I didnāt appreciate this attitude and was quite taken aback. Iāve asked waiters to confirm ingredients many times at restaurants, just to double check, and have never been questioned about my ability to read. There are implications, whether itās for dietary restrictions due to religious beliefs, allergies, or even just personal preferences. I donāt believe this smart comment was necessary.
I found out today when sharing this story with a colleague that one time, when they asked the same gentleman for the jalapeƱos in the sandwich to be on the side, they were questioned on whether they would end up throwing it away because they didnāt ālike to waste foodā. Although that is a perfectly reasonable stance to have, is it necessary to ask your customers who are paying top dollar for your sandwiches this type of question like itās some interrogation?
Iāve enjoyed the sandwiches here for a few years now, but will no longer be coming back. Breka is a tier below, but is still ~33% ($5) cheaper and the service is at least neutral to good there. Thank you.

Great spot run by people who care about quality. I have been many times and the food has always been excellent. The owner is a kind man, and the workers seem to like it there. The specials are inspired, and constantly evolving.
The pastries are my favourite anywhere in the city. They are delicious, made with incredible skill and not at all pretentious.

Reliable and made with attention
Love their focaccia bread however the veggie sandwich has very mild taste and lack flavors. Not much space to sit; good for takeouts. A bit too pricey imo.

Great fresh sandwiches - great for a quick lunch if in and around Vancouver
A cute little place with delicious looking pastries and fresh sandwiches. I got the alder smoked BLT and the sticky toffee pudding. The BLT was a really well balanced sandwich with freshly made bread. It was salty, but perfectly so.
The staff were kind and helpful too and the service was fast (especially with it being freshly made in front of you).

A little spot worth checking out! First time here today and Iāll definitely be back! Robbie was 10/10 - the service was so kind and the food was delicious. We shared the rosemary chicken sandwich and a vegan chocolate dessert - broth were delicious. Everything was fresh and had that home cooked taste, it was real food - thank you for the awesome lunch!
