Prado Café is one of my go-to spots in Vancouver — great coffee, cozy vibe, and consistently friendly service.
Ordered a chi to go and it was not very “chi” and luke warm. Also ordered an espresso and it was awful. Whatever they are doing they are not doing it well. Definitely not worth going again.
Coffee was good, but the bathroom was disgusting. They need to call a plumber or something
Great comfortable atmosphere to have a coffee with our nieces ❤️
I ordered a chai togo as I’m sick and it personally helps soothe my throat. However, this is the MOST disappointing chai I’ve ever had. Starbucks chai taste better than the one I’ve had here which alone says so much. I should’ve paid closer attention to how it was being made.
The chai was extremely small (I paid $6 including small tip) but it did not taste anything like chai— only tasted like steamed milk. I couldn’t even finish it despite the small size because all that was left were grainy bits. Which only worsened my throat. So I believe they use an instant version rather than a concentrate. Not only that but during my time ordering, the barista was on her phone TEXTING the ENTIRE TIME. I also asked if it would come sweetened. IT DID NOT.
This is my first impression of Prado Cafe and it’s safe to say I am never coming back. Nor trying any other Prado Cafe location.
After I ordered the top heavy muffin that was placed upright on a little plate fell off when I turned to leave. I let the server know it fell off and could I get a replacement? I was going to pay for it but she turned away from me right away and must have asked the other server who rolled her eyes and looked SO annoyed and said we don’t usually do this and plopped another muffin on my plate. I placed it sideways saying it’s top heavy and may fall again and she turned away before I could offer to pay. The vibes were not good. I said excuse me please let me pay you look so annoyed. She said no I’m not (she was) and said I hope you are satisfied and walked away before I could answer. Will never come back and the muffin was not worth the bother. Unfriendly servers.
What a cute hole in the wall. In December I hunt the city looking for places that use real egg nog for my latte.
To my surprise they do, but had run out later in the day... Lol
Quiet atmosphere and roomy for being a small place.
We will be back.
This is an awesome place to just sit back and people watch. Big huge picture windows that cover 3/4 of the room.
Enjoy!!

Unfortunately the wifi doesn't work very well. It disconnects ever 20 mins or so, sometimes refusing to connect. It's a real shame because I'd work here a lot more otherwise! As the food is pretty good.

I met my wife here today, Thanksgiving Monday. While I awaited her arrival, I did some book promotion online. Prado had a light, cheery, and rustic feel. Smooth jazz played as I entered and the aroma of coffee(s) greated me. The coffee was amazing, and we enjoyed some time here. I highly recommend Prado on Commercial.

often the coffee is good, but the ability of the baristas varies WILDLY. i was just served an oat milk cappuccino that only filled 3/4 the 8oz cup, the milk was thin like a flat white consistency (almost no foam), and the drink was lukewarm. if i’d had time i would’ve had him remake it. it’s so hit or miss 😫 as a former barista, caps are one of the most basic drinks every barista should be able to do.
Great coffee but prices were a little high for the location in my opinion. Lovely staff with a nice vibe. More comfy chairs would be a win
