A wonderful small Japanese restaurant in the heart of Vancouver. Simple set up, small and cozy..it reminds me a lot of our favorite sushi joint in Kyoto. All dishes are simple, delicious, and reasonable prices. We visit Vancouver quite often and this is a must on our list. Highly recommended!!!

Love this place! They have the best, freshest, and tastiest sushi around. I don’t know what their secret is, but I find it way less filling than other sushi restaurants around, which is dangerous LOL we end up ordering so much! Maybe they use a special rice or something? Whatever they do, it’s great. I love their rotating daily specials. The blue fin negitoro is a must try. They also have the best ice cream. Hojicha is our fave. Their other restaurant, Toshi, is also amazing. Couldn’t recommend them more 🥰

Food was fresh and tasty. 2 menu items that we tried to order were sold out. It is a small menu.
It's like being transported to Japan. Really good food & service, and fair prices.

Our go to sushi spot. Always love the great selection of Nigiri and Japanese beer. The atmosphere brings you back to the local Osaka sushi bars. The servers are all very welcoming.

The food is always fresh. Light and not heavy like most Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. An authentic Japanese restaurant where you can taste the difference.

The server rubbed me the wrong way. They sat us at a cramped corner table, and when he brought the food, we shifted things around to make space. Instead of helping, he loudly said, “That’s not enough room, I need more room.” Like, bro … you’re the one who sat us there. I’m a big guy, and you’re lucky the menu is limited otherwise I would’ve dropped two bills easily and you will be scratching your head how to make room.

Compact sushi shop that has been well established. Rice quality and preparation executed nicely. Grains are whole and not sticky,el dente and rice ball is matched well with fish slice. We managed to order the last pieces of chu Toro which were very good. Hojicha ice cream was a nice end to the meal.

Love Shiro! The food is great. Love the homey vibe. Love seeing so many families dining in early. They are so friendly and we always leave in great spirits.

A reliable neighbourhood gem that always has fresh tasty sushi. Reminds me of my travels through Japan. It is a bit on the pricey side, but at the same time it's always fresh, so that's what you're paying for.

I really wish the food looked as good as it did in the other reviews, but it didnt. I got the chef sashimi special which was not special at all. The sashimi was small. Around the size of my thumb. The salmon was frozen. Not worth the 40$ I paid for sashimi and a roll. Really disappointing.
Great quality of food and generous portions for the price. Warm staff with great service. It gets busy at lunch so if you want to dine-in that allow some time to be seated
