Can not say enough good things about this place. The staff are so welcoming and the sushi is the best in vancouver.

We had some really great sushi at a very reasonable price! Absolutely recommend it!

Disappointed and shocked by the rude service. I’ve been a loyal fan of the original Shiro’s for over two decades and was always treated warmly under the original owner. Sadly, the experience under the current management was the complete opposite. I came in alone for dinner and had just placed my chopsticks down after my last bite when the manager abruptly handed me the bill — no pause, no courtesy. There was no lineup or crowd waiting, yet when I calmly told him I was still finishing up, he immediately sent a server over with the card machine within seconds, as if I were being rushed out. The interaction was cold, dismissive, and unnecessarily pushy. After years of enjoying this restaurant, I will not be returning. Truly disappointing to see such disrespectful treatment replace what was once a welcoming dining experience.

Hidden Gem of a restaurant with authentic Japanese food & drink. Friendly staff with a modest and quaint atmosphere. Many of their features are sourced locally when possible. The quality for the price has not been matched in this area, but please correct me if I’m wrong. ITADAKIMASU!

I've been going to Shiro for over 15 years, and it’s hands-down one of my favorite spots in the city. The attention to detail is always on point, the staff are incredibly kind, and the interior is just plain adorable—cozy, welcoming, and full of charm.

If you go (and you really should), do not miss the chef tamago nigiri or the kinky (snapper) nigiri. Both are absolutely next-level.

One of the things I love most about Shiro is the unhurried vibe. You're never rushed—it's a place where you can truly settle in and connect, whether you're catching up with friends or having a quiet dinner with someone you care about.

And shoutout to the easy parking situation, which is rare in the Cambie corridor. There’s a small lot right out front and tons of free parking along Yukon Street.

A total gem.

The chefs are so focused on their work it is great to see. Another pure Japanese restaurant.

Fresh fish, friendly service, no complaints. Restaurant is a bit small, so don't come with big groups.

Mediocre for what you're paying. King Salmon sashimi had miniscule proportions. Was given 2 toonie sized belly pieces with scales and bones embedded inside. Amateur stuff

Fantastic sushi, service and cozy atmosphere. Extra props to Rob the manager who goes above and beyond to make it a great experience.

Great sushi for both dine in and take out, it’s become my go-to!

you have to pay for tea?!?!

service was good but some of the food was just okay, doesn’t seem too worth it for the price, in the tempura some of the veggies were mushy and wet rather than crunchy and the rice dish i got was just okay

also it’s a bit disappointing that during lunch their lunch menu is very limited and they didn’t have any nigiri or other popular items until lunch

Such delicious, fresh sushi! The nigiri were excellent - I especially loved the eel. We also had the takoyaki balls which were so flavourful! 😍 Staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you!

My husband and I have been wanting to try their Wednesday omakase for ages but they were always sold out. This past week the rain blessed us with that opportunity. It was fantastic. Super high quality fish, clean flavours and lots of local offerings. We have always loved Shiro but love it even more now. Amazing value and quality. Will not just be back on Wednesdays.
