Maybe we visited on an off day (Aug 17th) or maybe this is what people love to call a Sunday roast. But here’s a breakdown of what we had / did not have (husband and a 8 year old) in the name of a Sunday roast.
Roast beef- 3 pieces of overdone meat which tasted like it was heated up in the microwave. You know the taste when you microwave a piece of half eaten piece of meat? Exactly that.
Yorkshire pudding- likely made a few days before and heated up.It was just hanging by the thread.
Vegetables- yah, no comments
Gravy- Bisto’s gravy is a shinning star compared to this.
All three of us tried to stuff our faces with as much as we could, but not edible . We left 80% of our food.
What’s more surprising is, waited almost 45 minutes for this to come out! Hey no one’s expecting grand slam roast beef for $30, but seriously, this thing was criminal.
Why did it take me this long to put in. Review? I just saw an influencer promoting their roast beef like the best thing after sliced bread.

Water tasted like the drains of Hastings, got a cold poutine that was Costco fries, kfc gravy and hardly any cheese curds, service was slow, location scary.

It was a nice pub we randomly decided to walk into. The food was fine, nothing out of the ordinary but definitely the spot. I did find it a pricey for pub food, though.

Visited Six Acres in Gastown and had a good overall experience. The space inside is a bit cramped, but it has a cozy, lively vibe. The staff were friendly and the service was impressively quick.
The drinks were good but was on the pricey side.
As for the food, it was a bit hit-or-miss. The calamari was a letdown, over-fried and overly salty, with barely any meat. It felt more like eating crunchy chips than seafood. The pizza had a great dough base, but was on the dry side in terms of toppings. On the brighter side, the lobster roll was excellent, flavorful and well prepared. Definitely recommend that one. The salmon was also very tasty and cooked well, though the vegetables on the side were undercooked and not quite enough, especially considering the $27 price tag.
Overall, a decent spot with some standout items and a great atmosphere, but a few dishes could use refinement.

We went for the Sunday roast - the service was great, we had a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that was lovely and the gravy was divine. The only let downs were the peas were rock hard and the beef was quite tough. The taste was good but but definitely overcooked, and I tend to always go rare so could just be a preference thing but I'm not sure I'd go for the beef again.
Stopped in for happy hour to have a beer and poutine. Food was great the team even better. Ending up staying and engaging with multiple staff members. (Danny, Sean, Javier, and an Australian bartender)They were all extremely nice and fun to talk to. Beyond the decor and service they were experimenting with new drinks and we got to try one. Watch out for the biscoff martini it is absolutely delicious!

Such a nice pet-friendly restaurant! My dog really enjoyed sitting outside with me. The staff were super friendly and even gave my dog a water bowl and some treats. The food came out fast and tasted amazing. I’d definitely come back.

Visited twice in late September, once on a Monday and again on a Wednesday evening. Both times the vibe was immaculate, even with a light drizzle outside.
The staff went out of their way to make the experience exceptional. The pub’s historical character, enhanced by the Victorian charm of the area, created a cozy yet intriguing spot for a night out.
On my second visit, I ordered the curry mussels just before closing and was blown away by the broth’s depth and intensity. The seasoning was spot on; slightly spicy, tangy, and unmistakably fresh. You could tell hours of preparation went into it. The local lager on tap paired perfectly.
Can’t wait to return and work my way through the rest of the menu!

The food was just okay. But I’d give 5 stars ⭐️ to the molten lava cake and the vanilla ice cream.
