Bakery has been here for decades! Decent baked goods but like everywhere prices have been increasing.

Vegetarian whole wheat buns for only $3.25 and they are huge, filling, and nutritious. Goes perfect with a bit of vinegar too, especially 老陳醋. They allow you to pack with your own container! The queues here can be long, but worth the wait. Delivery service also available.

I am completely disgusted. My partner purchased the pan fried sticky rice and I opened the container and this thing is in there. Absolutely horrible. Hopefully im the odd one out and there isnt an infestation.

This was the worst DimSum I have ever had! Hands down the worst!

I liked this place! I saw it all over TikTok and just had to try it out. All the prices were so reasonable! Everything in the photos only cost me $20!
I showed up at 9:30 AM and things were just coming out of the oven, and the steamed buns had JUST finished, so the shelves were pretty empty. I think there would’ve been more selection for me to browse on the shelves if I’d waited another half hour before going. But I just asked for the specific buns I wanted (I read the labels om the empty shelves to decide which to try), and they quickly wrapped up the warm buns from the cooling rack for me to take home.
The cream in the coconut buns and sponge cake was very buttery. It’s nice spread out, but a bit overwhelming in big bites for me. The sponge cake was soooo nice and soft. I would definitely go back for another.
I also tried their red bean sesame ball and the soft rice red bean paste things (white and green things). They were good. The texture wasn’t my thing for the soft ones, so I wouldn’t go back for them, but that’s just personal taste. The cheese bun was good as well.
Now the steamed buns! First time trying these too. I loved the flavor and texture of a steamed bun! I found the ratio of bun to filling perfect for me. We got the chicken steamed bun and the BBQ pork steamed bun. They were SO good! I want to go back and try their other flavors.
There is a parkade right across the street, which is convenient if you can’t find street parking. I assume it gets busy throughout the day. We showed up early in the morning on a Sunday so it was quiet.
Definitely recommend checking them out :)

Got the plain cheung fun (rice rolls). Made to order. As you can see in my photo, they gave me a huge amount. I always have a food scale in my bag and have a habit of weighing my food. For less than half the price of the most popular cheung fun place in the Lower Mainland which is Hei Hei, at Sun Fresh they give you 40% more. They only give 1 packet of soy sauce though, which was not enough for the huge pile of cheung fun.

The food is tasty, but the lady at cashier has got some attitude!
One of the few remaining bakeries, they make a good rice roll and nice big BBQ pork steamed buns. Pan fried pork buns are great.

The ladies working at front works very very slow.
Doordash or other delivery guys need to wait for almost 30 mins to get one order.
Thats really disappointed .
They need to maintain their speed, they waste almost 5 orders of delivery driver

It varies here which is weird cause it's same people cooking and baking all the time. But pastries will not be as good some days to other days. Best take a little more pride in your work. Cause I shop here once a week for pastries

Sun Fresh Bakery in Vancouver's Chinatown is a popular spot for affordable and tasty Chinese pastries, dim sum, and congee. Customers praise the fresh ingredients, friendly service, and the nostalgic taste of their food, which is often compared to what their parents or grandparents would make.
It's worth noting that Sun Fresh Bakery is primarily a cash-only establishment.

Will order everything again EXCEPT for the sticky rice - which has a FUnky cooking oil rancid smell. Otherwise, all good 👍
