Loved our happy hour! We stopped in yesterday after a long walk on the Seawall, we were greeted by a gentleman (assuming he was the owner) who sat us on the patio. We order the happy hour special, 2 margaritas & 2 tacos for $26. The meat portion on the tacos was very generous, and the tacos were delicious! The staff was very friendly, courteous & came to our table several times. We really enjoyed our food & drinks, will be back in the future. The interior decor is very nice as well. All around it was a nice happy hour snack on the patio.

Lifes Too short

Just to be completely forthright. Food was perfect, minus the hot sauce was what I put on my rice. Zero complaints on the food.
Service, the restaurant was empty, we had tickets to the planetarium so we ordered fast. After waiting over 40 minutes we rushed to eat it. Then asked for the bill. Took 15 minutes to get a cash out. No staff was rude, but no staff had any customer dedication. We barely made the show. Really loved the food, for food 5 star, service 1 star. Atmosphere 3-4 star. If you have lots of time go for sure, tight on time, move on

It's all about the flavour. I've been looking for a good taco since some of my old favourites turned to the dark side and Americanized their menus. Each taco here is an explosion of flavour - the way they are supposed to be. As far as drinks go - I only tried the margarita, which was excellent.

Crave Chaser

I recently visited TacoLoco and had a pretty mixed experience.

Let me start with the positives... the food was genuinely great. The flavors were bold, the portions were fair (depending on the dish) and everything tasted fresh. If I were rating based on food alone, it would easily be great!

Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Our food took somewhere between 45 min to 1 hour to arrive, which already felt excessive. After we finished eating, we asked for the bill, and then waited another 40 min. Eventually, we had to stand up from the table and make it obvious that we were leaving because we were exhausted from waiting. That level of delay is simply unacceptable (especially if you have plans afterwards).

To make matters worse, the manager/owner was not friendly at all while helping to serve the food. There was no warmth and overall the service felt unwelcoming on his part only, not the servers.

Great food, but the slow and unfriendly service makes it hard to recommend. I hope they improve their service because the kitchen is clearly doing an excellent job.

We loved our meal here!! We enjoyed the guacamole, tacos and margaritas! I have many allergies including gluten free but felt totally fine after eating here! Jo was such an attentive server who noticed we were running out of chips and brought more before we asked!

Lovely warm atmosphere and excellent service. Food was delicious, we had Quesadillas, guacamole and tacos. The beef burrito was very generous and definitely shareble. Would have liked a bit more of the sauces to accompany so much meat. Not so sure why the tortilla outside was greasy. Overall a good experience.

We had margaritas which were delicious. We had some appetizers which were authentic, and thoroughly enjoyable. Our server, Mar, was a delight and very friendly I highly recommend this place

It was okay. I felt the portion of meat on each taco was quite generous, but nothing really stood out flavour wise besides the smoked barbacoa. Also price wise, not for me. I would prefer they did smaller classic sized tacos at a lesser price. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again unfortunately, there are much better spots in Kitsilano both price and food wise when it comes to tacos and Mexican cuisine

My wife and I, who live in Nanaimo were going to Vancouver for a show with our grandsons and just randomly popped into Taco Loco for some dinner before going ti the Dome. It was amazing, and we told the crew there that we would be back someday! Well, tonight her and I are coming over for another show at the Dome on the Hullo ferry and I will be ordering my Uber to go straight to Taco Loco first. Love this place and service was amazing. See you tonight around 5:30!!!

I came here with a friend and there was no one in the restaurant. We had to wait 5 minutes before someone came out of the kitchen door. The food was delicious though. We were in a hurry to get to an event but there was nobody available when we needed to pay, we had to knock on the kitchen door and even open it and yell into the kitchen but nobody came out. We waited for maybe 10 min until someone finally came.

I held my birthday dinner at Taco Loco recently. All of my guests (over 20 people) had a great time. The food was excellent, the staff amazing, and the music was great. I've never disappointed by the food and service, been going since it first opened!
