Insane tempura with unique side options. any of the tendon sets are amazing my favorite tempuras are the soft boiled egg and unagi. Chawanushi is delightful, and wings are crispy and spicy. A restaurant that makes me realized the treasure trove of japanese food is vancouver

Tendon Kohaku in downtown is such a gem for Japanese comfort food. The anago tendon was outstanding—light, crispy, and full of flavor. The classic tendon delivered that perfect balance of tempura and rice, while the deluxe curry omelette was rich, hearty, and absolutely satisfying. I was really excited about this restaurant as I am a big fan of tendon. Unfortunately, although the tempura was okay, all the rest ended up being so-so. The pumpkin soup was chalky, the rice mushy and the salmon roll flavorless (the salmon looked like it was frozen too long)...
