The lack of customer service at this place is honestly horrendous.
We went today at 5:51 hoping to buy some bread for tomorrow’s breakfast, and the lady working was incredibly rude and clearly didn’t want to answer our simple questions regarding the bread,She showed zero empathy, and when we pointed out her attitude, she simply said they were closing soon.just to buy a loaf of bread that it was already done.
She also claimed she didn’t speak Spanish, even though she has spoken Spanish to me on a previous visit. Of course, we ended up not buying anything. We know the bread is good, but with this level of customer service and complete lack of care, we had no desire to make a purchase. It was a very stressful experience.
Also is not about the fact that she did not wanted to speak in Spanish when she clearly does, thats totally understandable but her horrible lack of customer service and attitude towards us,we were asking very simple questions about the bread,it was quite disappointing.
I used to work in a different store in Granville Island. I’ve bought bread here many times for the place I worked before, which is why I’m certain she does speak Spanish. And I know that in customer service, no matter how you feel or how close you are to the end of your shift, you still treat customers with respect! These kind of situations totally ruin the experience!.

I visited today with my mom, my friend, and her mom. We were looking to buy a loaf of bread for my mom to try, since she’s visiting from abroad and we already know this bakery has great products and we’ve purchased from here before. Unfortunately, today’s customer service was so disappointing that it made me not want to come back.
The woman who assisted us was extremely apathetic and seemed annoyed from the start. Yes, we arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but that doesn’t justify such poor customer service. She was rude and made no genuine effort to explain anything. We also know she speaks Spanish, yet she pretended not to, which added to the unpleasant experience.
It’s frustrating because we know the product is really good, but her attitude completely ruined the visit. We ended up not buying anything, which is why we’re leaving this review. She even mentioned they were closing soon, but we weren’t asking her to heat anything we just wanted to buy a loaf of bread. What were they going to do with the leftover bread at the end of the day anyway?

This location is take way. It’s located in Granville Island in the public market. Can get very busy in there by late morning. Baked items are all fresh.
Cashier/server was not the most polite. They may have been tired, as they are trying to complete orders to keep the line moving.
