I've been a (kits location) customer for almost a decade now, so I wanted to give the downtown location a try as well. I didn't find the food to be as good (the green curry I ordered lacked a bit of flavour overall) as the Kitsilano location, but it was still really good. Highly recommend it if you're into thai food and looking for a quick, healthy and affordable meal downtown.

they have been consistently good quality, fresh, authentic, and well priced food. Service is good. I heard the owner treats them to vacations and treats them very well which is important. I have been a regular for many years. Some of their dishes are better than others. Of course certain places offer a tastier Thai dish for 18-30 dollars but I’m often paying only 12-15 dollars at Thai basil. Sometimes I love my dish, sometimes it’s ok, sometimes I don’t like it much. But overall I am a consistent customer for many years.

Cheapest Thai option I've managed to find in the area. Not the best, but good enough that I keep coming back. Wouldn't recommend the BKK Pad Thai or the Lunch Special Soup (broth and noodles with choice of protein), both are flavourless to the point of being gross. I love eating at this place, even though it is small, they serve fast, the staff is super friendly, in the kitchen you can see that they are organized and you never hear noises or shouts, they have incredible seasoning, everything I have tried is delicious; My favorite dishes are the yellow curry and the masaman curry, I think the quality-price ratio is 10/10, the best thing is that they always maintain that quality and flavor!, we order 2 curry+1 order of rice+ 1 order of spring rolls+ 2 thai ice tea= 64 cad in totalVegetarian options: They have tofu instead of meat and more vegetarian optionsParking: In the street of thurlow
