I've been coming here for 20 years since they opened. I always felt the food here was solid and provided value.
With that said, this changed when Chinese new year came about, the restaurant jacked up the prices while reducing the portion sizes of their pho and beef stew. I've been here 3 times since cny. The portion sizes were much smaller than before.
Basically their large pho and beef stew now is a small at other vietnamese restaurants.
I will no longer be returning.
Gosh darn it it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve been here. The auntie still remembers me! Also, if it’s “cash only” then you know this is an OG Pho joint. No nonsense decor and service. It’s mom and pop before it was a thing. Several other locations in Vancouver as well. Here’s a tip, you won’t find bigger chunks of tendon than this place. Trust me, i’ve eaten all over Vancouver as well as Vietnam! Prices hasn’t inflated to insanity as well. Don’t expect the bougie Pho experiences in Vancouver nowadays. Just walk in with sandals, shout out your order and make some loud slurping sounds. You will blend right in!

I am no stranger to no-nonsense service, but this one is special in a bad way. I am a regular at the Broadway Thai Son, am familiar with the ladies and their quick service there, but decided to stop at this Thai Son on 1st b/c it was on the way home and in the same complex at T&T. Never again, imo. Now i know why this location is consistently ranked lower than the Broadway one.
The lady was not friendly at all, unless she knows and likes you. She was giggly with her friends, but towards me, the service could not be colder. She looked at me with disdain, for reasons unknown. I knew what i wanted, ordered quickly, with thank yous. Nothing but a scowl from this lady. Will never support her or this location again, and i don't recommend you do either.

Pho was alright, definitely not the best. The noodles weren’t cooked very well. Soup flavour is not as rich. Didn’t have red chili peppers

Kid-friendliness: It looks a bit like in the 80s but that's ok.

Came here to have lunch with my Dad. The service was wonderful - super friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. The soup broth tasted different from other Pho places (not to my liking) and the meats (in the noodles) were tough and chewy. The place itself is clean but old/dated looking.

For $20, it's a decent meal.
No bells / whistles. Reminds me of Bao Chau.

I've been to this place for pho 30 years ago when it was still on Kingsway right across Kingsgate mall. Always enjoyed the food here.

Honestly one of my favourite pho restaurants in vancouver, I absolutely love their spring rolls and I find that the quality of their food is not bad. Would come back again for comfort food.

This is a basic Vietnamese restaurant, the food is good, and the service is average. The select big quantity of vegetables in the dining area, which is supposed to happen in the kitchen. Because of that, I give it a 4 star.

The broth is very rich.
As a Vietnamese person, my viet parents have said that the pho here is mediocre. When I went here with my little brother, we ordered a large pho and Vietnamese coffee, the service wasn’t the best and the pho was okay. What made me not ever come back here was the service though, I remember the server giving the vibe of not liking me and my brother when we asked her for a smaller bowl to share the pho, and giving us the stink eye when we left. My brother was in elementary school and he even noticed, as when we left, he said “it seems like they didn’t like us.” This was my experience 7 years ago, it was my first and last time ever eating here.
