I recently visited The Basic on Main Street in Vancouver with my best friend and my two kids, and we had such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and gives off a really wholesome family vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal out. I ordered the veggie hash, which was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. The food was true to the name—simple and straightforward. It was a bit too oily for my taste, but definitely filling. If you're really hungry or enjoy heavily fried food, this might be the place for you. We tried a few of the recommended dishes. The staff were pleasant and respectful throughout.

The name does not lie, it really is basic. Average breakfast food at an expensive price. I was expecting bigger portions for the price.

The strawberry was very good though, tiny but full of flavour.
