The Magnet is a restaurant with an impressive selection of brews, often compared to The Alibi Room for its consistent and high-quality beer options. Owned by the same people as Brassneck Brewery, it offers a vast range of BC beers, including slow pours for some pilsners and a side pull for others, enhancing the beer experience. The food menu has seen significant improvement, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. The charcuterie board is particularly impressive, although only half a pie is served with it. The restaurant has also added great vegetarian options, such as Grilled Carrots with Spiced Orange Glaze and Whipped Feta & Olive Dip, both of which have received high praise for their presentation and taste. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and the short but mighty natural wine list, providing excellent service. The atmosphere is fantastic, making it a great place to visit if someone is downtown. However, parking can be challenging, and it's recommended to avoid Lot #107 at 501 Richard’s Street due to early closing times and hefty fees for late-night access. Overall, The Magnet offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience with delicious food and drinks, making it a destination worth visiting.
