Their Lost Amigo hash is a great breakfast!! Small diner vibes. I've been there for happy hour too, and their wings and house lager are very good!!

This place used to be perfectly fine. Booths, large windows, lots of light, and food that was ok. Not excellent, but ok. The prices were, again, ok. Today the booths and windows are still there, but the ok-ness of the prices has been obliterated by rude, slow, and chaotic service. The owners had skilled workers at one time; it's a mystery why they haven't been able to keep them. Maybe it is the Covid thing, but the floor, covered in food and dirt that blows in from Hastings Street, suggests a management problem. If you genuinely enjoy chaos, mediocre food, and much lower prices - travel down to Bon's on Nanaimo and have at it.

Cute place with a small patio. Was just there for drinks. Had a lime margarita, which was pretty good. It has a nice old school vibe. A short walk to grab some drinks after walking around the PNE all day.

Great little diner I never knew existed until I found it on Google. Excellent service, had fish and chips, was wonderful. Highly recommended.

WOW.... The WORST SERVICE I have EVER experienced in my entire life! I've been coming to the Slocan for around 20 years. I met a friend for breakfast... there was only one other customer in at the time. I nicely asked the waiter if he would mind either turning the music down or changing the station from the Rap/Hip Hop. He said, "No"...."I'm not your friend"... "Feel free to file a complaint". WOW... that's the new 'service' model ???? Customer is no longer first but last and arrogantly rudely treated???? WOW

Walked in at 9 am, sat down, didn't wait long until the server to get us started, so far so good.Ordered the door crasher with sausage, do not ever order the sausage, possibly the worst taste I've had to endure in my mouth ever.Roommate who joined me saved his bacon for last, his reason was, maybe I'll be left with a good taste in his mouth. So if you're looking for a great taste left in your mouth avoid this place.I will give them this, the poached eggs at least where done right. In summary, OK service, eggs on point but not great enough to make up for the rest.I'm giving a 2, because the dogs I met outside after our meal where so dam cute.

After a busy morning vintage shopping and bargaining, the four of us wanted a simple meal in a welcoming neighbourhood. I had never been to the Slocan before, but I enjoy that part of East Hastings, so I gladly agreed to accompany the others. Stunningly beautiful weather - so we sat out on the terrace. We all ordered the same dish - The Door Crasher - 2 eggs, your favourite meat (bacon, ham or sausage), hash browns and your choice of toast. Price is reduced for a non-meat breakfast. My over-easy eggs were done perfectly and the ham was great.

Super friendly staff and a simple but delicious menu. There is something for everyone here from kids to adults. The Nachos Grande were amazing and the hash browns are the best I've ever had

Nice partially enclosed patio. The pulled pork burger was good; I would have preferred a little more BBQ sauce, but the meat was so tender and juicy that it didn't need it.

Nice place. It has a patio and the service is great. If you are craving hamburgers, the Deluxe Cheese and the Cajun Cheddar Chicken are great options ??

Service was amazing! To be expected ? I had a garden salad to eat, however it would be 5 stars had the salad done justice. I can not say for the rest of the menu.. it all looks super ?

black man, wanted to put us in far corner, we wanted the table closest to window, by front, He made a comment, like a growl, and made it so loud the people in restaurant laughed. It is terrible to be treated like we mean nothing. we respected this restaurant for many years, and for this man to erase all positive thoughts is Horrible. we walked out, because my friend hollered out we did not want to be put in corner. but to be laughed at. is horrible, racist. and put down because we are indigenous
