I recently dined at this restaurant to celebrate an early Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, the experience didn't start well and it affected our mood for the rest of the evening. When we arrived, we were asked to wait while our table was being set up, which was completely fine. Shortly after, we were shown to a very small table near the entrance. I told the server that I did not want to sit at the small table by the entrance. She said there were no other tables available. I repeated that I really did not want to sit there and asked if we could wait instead. She then asked what kind of table I wanted. I explained that I had made the reservation three weeks ago and did not expect to be seated at the smallest table by the entrance. Her response was, “Everyone did here,” which felt dismissive and surprising in tone. If the larger tables are first-come, first-served, that's completely fine — but that wasn't explained. I also noticed two guests seated at larger tables, which made the situation confusing. In the end, I didn't want to ruin the evening. She suggested rearranging the table slightly to give us a bit more space, and we agreed. She also asked what we were celebrating. When I mentioned it was an early Valentine's Day, there was no acknowledgment or response, which made the question feel unnecessary. The rest of the staff throughout the evening were kind and attentive, and the food was enjoyable. However, the initial interaction left us feeling unwelcome, which is unfortunate when celebrating a special occasion. First impressions truly matter.

Went for my partner's birthday. Staff was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful (remembered it was her birthday from the reservation form and brought out a free dessert). The food was incredible (not cheap), but experience was worth it if you are looking for a cool special occasion. Cool ambiance too, not pretentious.

Prompt and attentive servers. Good recommendations on their signature dishes. Nice ambience but louder crowds at peak 6pm time. All cooked dishes were very done and tasty. Sashimi well presented and fresh, sushi rice was a bit too wet and sticky texture, also prefer less vinegar.

The physical environment is high quality and the service is attentive. The problem is that the room is too noisy. It gets so loud that it is hard to hear people even at one's own table. The business model appears to depend on fast turnover (reservations are given 90 or 120 minutes seating time, and they do remind you of this when you arrive - maybe not the best message to feel welcome). When paying, the suggested tipping percentage starts at 18%.
