The Victor Reviews
Came here for the first time on Jan 22 to try their Vancouver Dine Out Festival 2023 on our anniversary. We were impressed by the warm welcome from the host and such a cool ambience located on the 6th floor. We got a little card 'Happy Anniversary' on our table and also free complimentary drinks (we opted for non-alcoholic drinks). Thank you for such a nice gesture! One waitress came ask if we were ready to order. As both hubby and I were hungry so we ordered their $45 per person...read full review

The Victor is a restaurant that offers a pleasant dining experience with attentive service and good food. The hostesses are welcoming, and the servers are prompt in taking orders and advising on daily specials. The food is quick and of good quality, leading to recommendations to other customers. The brunch buffet features a variety of options, including a dessert table and a candy table, making it well worth the price. Highlights include the honey ham, prime rib, and the made-to-order French toast, which is a big portion and very delicious. The regular menu items, such as the Coco-Lagoon, mushroom arancini, and spicy tuna roll, are well-received during the restaurant's Happy Hour, also known as Victory Hour. Guests can also enjoy a Caesar table to make their own drinks with garnishes. The decor and ambiance, particularly in the bar/lounge area, create a lively atmosphere, with stunning views of the patio and BC Place.
The restaurant has received a mix of experiences, with some praising the great food and drinks, especially the steak and crab cake appetizer. The steak portion is generally well-prepared, juicy, and tender, with the red wine jus paired with prime rib described as divine. However, there are occasional inconsistencies, with one steak being dry and overcooked. Sides like charred Brussel sprouts are particularly delicious and complement meals well. The extensive wine list and signature cocktails are appreciated, though some feel the glasses could be less extra. The open-air location and airy, spacious interior with outdoor seating are highly enjoyed, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The staff are attentive, keeping glasses full and checking in frequently.
Some reviews mention issues with customer service at the reception, where guests felt unnoticed despite being right in front of staff. Nonetheless, unexpected touches like a slice of coconut cake for a birthday added to the positive experience. Overall, while the food, service, and ambiance are praised, inconsistencies in steak quality and some lapses in customer service make potential diners hesitant, suggesting that more consistent experiences are needed for full confidence in returning. The lunch buffet was a pleasant experience, with good service and a nice environment, though food variety was limited.
