Best soup dumplings!

We went for lunch at this neighborhood restaurant, small place, limited seating. Our steamed small dragon dumplings, fried steamed pork buns (pre-cooked) and marinated beef noodle soup were just average, similar to cafeteria catering. Previously, the family run restaurant was much better and atmosphere was distinctly shanghainese. On this visit, it was noticably different and mediocre. At Wang's price point, there are better options.

Juuuicy dumplings! Both Xaiolongbao (小籠包) and pan fried pork bun (生煎包) had so much juice inside, almost impossible not to leak on yourself…..
Also tried dandan (担々麺) and Shanghai noodle (上海粗炒面) and both were very good.

Not exactly gourmet but solid satisfying supper! Small eatery in London drug plaza near Kingsway. Plenty of free parking spots. Popular at dinner time with often a lineup. Don’t take reservations. Cash only.

A friend wanted dumplings, which chinese food places are not my forte, but I always see a lineup outside this place, so it was worth a try.

This small mom and pop shop is right outside the London Drugs and they share the same parking lot, so lots of parking.

We ordered:
Xiao Loong Bao - it was hot, but skin was thin, so easy to break. We knew it was fresh, as they had someone wrapping it by the window all night.
Pan Fried Dumpling - hot and fried to crisp. Big baos and filling. Juice came pouring out after the first bite.
Beef Roll - Always my favorite. The wrap was perfect consistency with just the right amount of sauce and cucumber.
Dandan Noodle - I read a lot of reviews and said that their Dandan noodles were good, but unfortunately it was a miss for us. We found it a little bland. We added chili oil to it for a little bit of a kick and that was bland as well. ☹️
Shanghai Pan Fried Thick Noodle - was okay. Although it didn't stand out, we enjoyed it. Had good flavors.

Service was not good, but no complaints. I don't usually expect much, from a mom and pop Chinese restaurant, as long as the food is good.

We went at about 7:00 on a weekday and there was no lineup, but as we were eating, the line was forming. Servers were anxious to take our plates and send us out the door. 🤣

In sure there are people out there that argue this may not be authentic enough or think that this place is not good. Overall, we thought it was good food and okay prices. Not cheap, but definitely not expensive at all. This is also a cash only place.

The taste is bad, the noodle don’t even have any taste

I would rate there food really good. But I would rate their service as zero, rudeness from the server this is not the only time, we usually eat here with my sister and give a good tip but there is something different from the servers most especially if you are not kn a white genes they will give you a bad service. I usually let it go, but today servers had mistakes on our order and got mad on us. At the end I did not leave a tip for that kind of service we get. They even got mad for not giving a tip for their bad service. They will even talk. to there own language and you know they are talking about you. If you treat you customer well we will give you tip! Hopefully the owner or if this is a family owned hopefully they can change the servers with a young ones rather than old ladies who cant communicate in english and have a attitude issues. I wont recommend this to my friends and coworkers and will spread this on tiktok and other social media platforms for other customer to be aware. Watch out for the videos we will release

Dumplings and their noodles are so comforting and satisfying

Delicious food at a great price. The soup dumplings were delicious and the beef roll was a huge hit with my whole family.

The Dan Dan noodles, while delicious, were not very spicy; yet I would still order them again (just different than I expected).

The steamed dumplings were good, not as thin-skinned as I’d like. The braised chicken soup was underwhelming. There was very little chicken In it and the soup was fairly flavourless.
