Everything was good!

We visited my friend in Vancouver last weekend. She invited me to this restaurant. There is a lot of delicious Dim Sum. I enjoyed a pleasant time and tasted different food here. I will come here again next time.

We visited Vancouver this summer for a short vacation. Our friend highly recommended a Cantonese-style restaurant known for its dim sum and seafood. Since we had a group of eight, we ordered a lot of dishes — but we couldn’t even finish half of them because the portions were so big! Everything was excellent, though the only downside was that parking was limited.

Good portion are big. Service is incredible and they are simply busy. I have noticed their food is less oily compared to other dim sum place. I highly recommend this place. Make sure you go to this place hungry.

The fried rice was delicious, not too oily nor salty. The stuffed aubergine was superb too. Highly recommend.

For outstanding Dim Sum I would highly recommend Western Lake due to their large portions and tasty items. Most of their Dim Sum items are excellent however I do have a gripe about their Shu Mai. Usally Shu Mai is made of mostly a pork filling which is what I like however Western Lake uses way too much shrimp in their Shu Mai which makes it not so great. The service at Western Lake is quite excellent with the servers being attentive when you need them to be. I would recommend calling before hand for a reservation as the resturant gets very busy in the morning. Overall I would highly recommend Western Lake as it offers good food at decent prices.

The portion is generous for the price and the taste is good. To experience a variety of flavors, we recommend going with several people.

I was with a big family group. The food was very excellent. The place always filled with many people every table. Recommend to reserve the table at the earliest convenience.

Vegetarian options: You make a request with the server if the menu is not available.

The food is at an average restaurant level. However, the environment was extremely noisy, and the manager had a poor attitude, rushing us to make the payment, citing a 1.5-hour dining limit.

If you don’t mind the cramped space and fast-food-style treatment, this could be a spot to consider for a quick meal.

P.S. The restaurant is quite narrow, and there are no restrooms available for the elderly or disabled.

Kid-friendliness: It is not convenient to bring small children to the restaurant. The area is very small.

Wheelchair accessibility: no restrooms available for the elderly or disabled.

Big Dim Sum.
Is it worth the wait, even with a reservation?
Not quite. Food is good, some items are impressively sized. But the taste isn’t anything particular to rave out about.
At least the service is as good as it can be given how packed it gets.

Parking: If you’re lucky you’ll be able to nap the few spots just behind the restaurant.

Fast service, big portions!

Might just have to wait a bit to get a table even if you make a reservation as they need to clean it up but not a big deal for all the food.

Reasonably priced as well!

Almost always super busy so must be good. Interestingly, the waiters have much more ‘special not on the menu’ items than there are on the menu (and probably more expensive). My Asian family loves the food, but it is a bit pricey, especially the fresh seafood (lobster, crab, etc).
