Best Location in the Hub of Victoria with the Best Staff to Match: I’m a local resident who favours 10 Acres Commons. This downtown eatery at the hub of Victoria sits across from the Empress Hotel with a patio on all the action. Managers and bartenders Alex & Roy make you feel like every time is your first time with excellent service and friendly smiles. The owners aptly promise: “Our locally based menu featuring sustainable seafood and organic produce from our farm, exuberant steamer bowls, generous sharing platters, creative cocktails and local craft beer on tap are just some of the reasons to come by and hangout.”

Had great service on the patio and had a great time.
Had the calamari and oysters to start and both were great. The chicken sandwich with fries was superb, and I would order again.
The server we had was friendly and welcoming, and was fun in his banter.
All around great spot and I would return.

Booked a reservation online the day before but they said they didn’t receive it. Ambiance nice but service so slow. Would not recommend.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and it has a charm and a good vibe that’s hard to explain. Stop by and have a classic martini from Alex, you won’t be disappointed, best martini I’ve had in years. Jimmy is a big part of the good vibe, make sure you say hi to him, you’ll be glad you did. Wishing you all good vibes my friends.
The food is so delicious the first time we came and we had a not great experience with the service, but we came back because we love the ceviche here and very grateful the service was very different, very nice experience

Just picked up four portions of Thanksgiving dinner and took them to our daughter and family who were all under the weather. Manager, Jimmy, was great - friendly and on top of things. Meal came packaged well for transport, hot and, according to all reports, delicious. My youngest grandson thought it was very fancy!
Can recommend and will do this again. Oh, and prices were very reasonable, in my view.

What a weird experience. It is a beautiful restaurant. The roast chicken, beets, high tea sour was amazing. The lasagna was good. The service was SO hot and cold we are still left scratching our heads. We arrived at 7:22pm for a 7:30 reservation. The host, Hari, promptly told us “I will help you at 7:30” and then proceeded to ignore us. It was odd and cold. I watched him make a few other patrons disgruntled and upset over various issues. He seemed like the common denominator. A good restaurant host should be warm and hospitable towards people coming in to eat and relax. He was rude and emotionless.
When 7:30 arrived we were hoping for a table at the patio but put in a different section. We were still laughing about our awkward exchange when Jackie, our server checked in on us. We shared we were hoping for a table at the patio and she was so kind and went out of her way to see us in a new section. Looking back, I wish we had just stuck with her section. Our new server was professional enough when she finally checked in, but it felt like we hardly saw her from beginning to end. When we were ready to go, we waited about 10 minutes, but didn’t see our server so asked someone else for our bill.
The ambience of the restaurant screams warmth and comfort, but most of the staff does not. Except for Jackie. She was great! The world needs more Jackie’s.

We arrived at 5:45 and were seated immediately. We informed our server that we were attending the ballet and had to be out by 7. Our drinks arrived quickly but that was the last time we saw our server. Fast version (unlike the service)? We had NO ONE come by our table. At 6:51 I went in search of a server and said we needed to cancel our order, only to be “informed” that our food was on the way out. We received our meals at 6:54 (again, we had to leave at 7 to make the ballet). Who wants to eat a meal in six minutes. We complained to the manager who failed to apologize and offered 30% discount on the food. As we were already late, we did not have time to argue had paid and left—with much animosity displayed when we did not tip.
Wait, it gets worse. While waiting for the bill, I went to the ladies room. No soap, no paper towels.
Summary? Terrible experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I would give zero stars if it was an option.

We should have listen to the couple who were walking out disgusted, looking at us and telling us not to waste our time. They had waited for five minutes in front of a guy (who happened to be the manager) while he was on the phone ignoring him. Five minutes is a lifetime to be ignored by a resto host. We were starving and wanted an early dinner after a day on the water. So we ignored him and after a minute just walked in and sat down. Clearly our female server preferred waiting on party people, her demo, and was a tad dismissive. One of our orders was OK and ordinary. The $33 ribs could have come out of the freezer of a discount grocery store, with a glop of mash potatoes one might find on a prison platter. I asked for some butter for this cold veg. What a disaster for a quick birthday dinner on a visit to a beautiful city. Had we been dressed beyond a day of whale watching we may have gone across to The Empress. This place was the biggest disappointment. Even more so than Nellie’s Steak and Seafood. Better off hitting another Franchise - The Keg.

Service was poor and the waitress was unpleasant. Menus are a mess and need updating. Food was decent but not what I ordered and my tea was half full, how much does hot water cost?
