I love this bar. Live your gritty biker bar-esque peanut shelled dive fantasy at this institution in Victoria. Completely unique and great for an alternative scene in the core of the city. Get transported away in the oaky smokey atmosphere of Big Bad Johns. 5/5
We happened to stumble upon this establishment on our trour of Canada and Alaska in 2005
When we arrived I was asked what I wanted to drink and I asked for suggestions the barman suggested the local beer 3X. Being an Aussie I replied it can’t be as good as ours we have XXXX to which he supplied after 3 of these even I look good. After 2 he asked how was it going to which I replied the 3rd one had better be good.
We had a great day that ended up being one...

I went down to Victoria on May 2nd, did what i needed to do, and was looking for a place to get a drink, and I tell you, Big Bad Johns was the place for me, i surely enjoyed the drinks, the people i met, and the friendly service. I have recommended this place to my friends and family and they sure enjoyed it there too.
