As tourists used to the likes of Starbucks, Bows was out of the ordinary for us as the menu is classic and minimalistic, without the additives we are used to. However, customer service was excellent—they talked to us about what we liked and helped us curate a drink to our tastes, and they were very informative. Our coffees were delicious, as well. If we are ever back in town, we will return!
Admittedly I was nervous visiting after reading the negative reviews. I purchase their excellent coffee beans online and wanted to experience it in person. My daughter and I were treated cheerfully and promptly and the coffee drink was better than all others I have purchased on this trip from the mainland. I will continue to be a customer from near and afar. Thank you!
Best roaster in Victoria.
Love to see a business standing on the right side of humanity!! Super friendly staff, clean and cute atmosphere, they roast their own beans! And the Zataar scone is SO good!!!! ✌🏻🖤💚❤️
Delicious, intentional, warm, and a great spot!
Happy they’re recognizing and talking about the ethics of coffee. It’s not just a frivolous drink - it’s something that people get exploited for just so the every day North American can get a caffeine shot in the morning.
All to all the complaining cis white males: maybe try walking a step in someone else’s shoes before opening in your mouth. Minorities (culture, gender identity, dis/ability) around the world are systemically at a disadvantage, with many experiencing race or gender-based violence every day - even here in Victoria. So, sorry not sorry that you felt slightly uncomfortable walking into a coffee shop; we feel this every moment of our lives.

A little gem in the middle of nowhere.
Did the Bay bridge/Selkirk trestle loop today and stopped in at B & A for a snack.
Met Alana, she is great.
Had a miso cookie and a chocolate orange tart, both very good.
Stop in and check it out

I love this place. My only complaint is that they had more seating and longer hours. Could you at least extend it to 330pm? I get the post lunch nappies and like a shot of caffeine plz. Also I have no idea about the staff being awful. They have always been super nice to me.

You feel the clear bigotry the moment you walk in as a straight white male. Terrible, pretentious, bitter coffee to boot, literally anywhere else is better and you won't feel judged just for existing.

They support coffee farmer's resistance to Canadian mining companies. That earns my respect!

Does not miss.
Been buying coffee from Bows for about a decade, easily one of the best and most consistent roasters in Canada. If you care at all about the future of coffee and those that produce it consider supporting them.
