I moved to Victoria a year ago, so Ive been enjoying trying as many restaurants as possible... Until I came here. Great Classic pub vibe, but I haven't gotten food poisoning this bad since I went to India. Wont be going back.Response to owner: I had the chicken club and a side salad. And just because nobody else got sick doesn't mean I didn't.

Went for fish and chips... Won't return. The guy serving me shouldn't be a server. Plenty of tables open at 5pm but everything had a reserved sign on it. Asked for a different seat than a high table and was told the only thing available was on the patio outside(raining and windy outside). Got my meal.. was ok and quite greasy and never saw my server until I was almost done my meal. Drink sat empty most my meal. After my meal I expressed I was finished figuring he'd take the hint and either bring me the bill or ask if I wanted the bill. If he wasn't gonna offer me a refill I don't see the purpose on sitting there with nothing else to drink or eat. 25mins later I got tired of waiting and asked a different waitress for my bill as my server was nowhere to be seen. Anyways $35 can be better spent almost anywhere else in the city.

Went there multiple times over the past year1- Emma the server is quite rude and should maybe work on her facial expressions - Did not seem to enjoy her job.2-I've had three different bartenders and two are not great AT ALL - giving you attitude and overall a bad vibe. The short guy (Ted I think, but I'm not 100% sure of his namae) is GREAT. Always respectful and always great service.3-The cob salad with chicken and all is great - BUT the buttermilk chicken strips needs some work... I've tried it four times now, and still disapoint. You can tell the oil is old. I've brought it up twice to Emma, and she said "I saw them add more oil today". Well, cleaning the fryers is what they should do. Adding fresh oil to a dirty/used oil doesn't work. I've ordered some to go as well, and the batter seperated from the chicken right away, was way overcooked, and seemed either reheated or they used the old stuff from previous days.4-The ambiance is great overall5.They have great selection of beers

Affable staff. Good food selection. It's been a couple of years since my last visit and it's still just as great as ever. Relaxed and easy to carry on a conversation.
There was plenty of seating for a Friday night. The special fish and chips had an ample portion of fish and the house hamburger satisfies a good appetite. The side salad was exceptional.

Good pub atmosphere with open mic music tonight. Food was good when it eventually arrived, but it took 45+ minutes. The overall slowdown was probably why it took a long time to get a table too, even though they weren't super busy. Our first time there, hopefully better next time.
