This review relates to the Oak Bay location. This is a common stop for us after one of the kids’ sports games and that was the reason once again to visit this evening. We have always enjoyed this location, which is why I’ve given three stars instead of the one star experience we had tonight because I don’t want to bring its overall rating down too much. The staff is usually cheerful and the product is usually great but this evening the reception from the woman at the counter was grumpy and the product substandard. After being pressed to order with a clearly impatient tone, my daughter ordered the new seasonal Christmas themed blizzard in her usual polite, friendly tone. She received a curt “sold out” in the dismissive reply, followed by a return of the impatient expression while the staff member awaited the next choice. My daughter then ordered one of the royal blizzards, because she likes the fudge they usually put in the middle. The blizzard was produced, handed over and we left. On the way home in the car, my daughter first had to grab some napkins to wipe copious amounts of ice cream off the handle of the spoon that must’ve been there when it was handed over. That’s never happened before. Then she dug disappointedly to seek out the expected fudge bounty and found what amounted to less than a small spoonful at the bottom of the cup amongst what was already quite soft ice cream. But the better surprise came when we reached home and the lights of our kitchen and she found a long hair emerging from her treat. Gross. Most of it wound up straight in the garbage after that. We like this place, we want to keep liking this place, tonight seemed to be the “B team”. Please do better.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my experience at your location today.
I ordered a Blizzard, which, unfortunately, was not filled to the standard I expected for the price paid, the portion size was noticeably small. More concerning, however, was the interaction with a crew member named Stef (name tag noted). Her communication was very rude and dismissive.
I usually enjoy visiting your establishment, but this experience fell significantly short of expected customer service and product quality. I hope this feedback can be used to provide additional training to staff regarding customer interactions and product consistency.

This review is specifically for Oak Bay location (Foul Bay & Cadboro Bay, Victoria, BC). It is located right next to “the Pet Store” and thought they would have some ideas for a “pup cup”.
I asked to see if they offer pup cup while I ordered for the whole family. Instead, the customer service team gave me an empty cup. There might have a language barrier. But it’s the attitude of the customer service team. Eventually, I showed them the internet thread on the internet. One customer service team said “no, we just have empty cup” and both were quite dismissive about it. Eventually, one of them said they could sell me a small ice cream in a cup for the price of small Sundae. Without wanting to deal with it anymore, I just paid for it and got out.
Could you please train your staff to be a bit more polite and respectful while providing them with all the necessary information regarding pup treats? I understand that not all franchises offer this. If this location doesn’t offer pup cup, all you have to do is to provide your staff with that information and what your franchise is offering for dogs, how much to charge etc.
This location has been my go to since 2002. Today experience left a very bitter taste in my mouth for sure.
Ordered a fudge malt. $8.00. Next time I'll make some chocolate milk. Horrible thin crap.
Fudge sundae on Monday afternoon in June. How cold can they make those sundaes? Absolutely great!

This location is very good, I appreciate that it's popular (between the high school, rec centre, and shopping area) but the wait is never unreasonable. Last night I picked up a mobile app order and despite it being busy the staff immediately knew I had both a bag on the warmer, and another in the freezer. Everything was well prepared, very hot and cold items respectively, and the staff are friendly. Even though it can get messy in the dining area with so many customers, the busy staff make an effort to tidy when they come around to bring meals to the tables. Great work in a hectic place!
I have never been happier in my life. I asked for something a little out of their way and made it perfect!!! I love everyone who works there and I hope whoever made my dip cone gets everything they want in life 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Just purchased a cake from there. When I got home I noticed two different stickers on the top of the cake. Prep September 5th use by September 15th. Then the other close to the price saying September 18th, use by September 28th. Probably my mistake for not looking close enough and I am really hoping that they are not intentionally re- dating old products. Have called diary queen support as well.
I haven’t eaten here for a while but it looked like it was under new ownership because the old staff were all gone, I ordered a burger and fries. The food was disgusting I had to throw it out I will never patronize this establishment again.
My mother in law ordered a birthday cake for our daughter at this location. This what we recieved. The manger Balbi, said he wouldn't charge for the edible paper. He told us this is what we ordered, it isn't. He was incredibly rude on the phone. Avoid this location.
