Extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We ordered two mains (fish & chips and pasta) and one chowder. The food was just average— nothing memorable and certainly not worth the price. For two main dishes and one soup it cost 80 CAD.

Unfortunately, the service was even worse.

When we walked in, there was no one at the entrance. We had to walk further inside and wait about two minutes before a server came out — and I had to approach her first. After being seated, although water was already on the table, no one offered to pour it for us. We were left to serve ourselves.

It was surprisingly difficult to receive basic attention. Several staff members were chatting behind the counter while we waited to place our order. Instead of being attentive, the service felt passive — as though we had to ask for everything (eg. bowls to share the chowder) rather than being proactively assisted.

When we requested takeout boxes, the server simply dropped off the containers without any help, so we packed everything ourselves.

The payment process further reflected a lack of professionalism. I first attempted to pay with a UnionPay card. After swiping twice with no response, I asked whether the staff knew how to process it. She replied that she didn’t and had never seen this type of card before. I then tried tapping my TD credit card, which also failed — and only then was the machine reset. The overall attitude came across as unhelpful and dismissive.

The restaurant is located on a boat, which caused slight motion and some mild dizziness during the meal. While that may be part of the setting, it made attentive service even more important — something that was clearly lacking.

Earlier that same day, we had afternoon tea at Butchart Gardens, where the service was easily ten times better — attentive, professional, and warm — and their suggested tip started at 15%. Here, with noticeably lower service standards, the minimum suggested tip was 18%.

For a restaurant at this price point, basic hospitality and professionalism should be expected. I regret leaving a $15 tip. We will not be returning.

Stopped tonight before the light fest. Food was good, portions were large. Waitress was completely disinterested. Will be back (but hope we get another section)

Food was delicious, and staff was great. It was great experience to be able to watch the planes and an otter on the dock!

Amazing view with sub par food. Fries are probably a week old and reheated.Halibut burger was dried up and flavourless. Yuck.

The staff and atmosphere are terrific. The location on the water of Victoria, BC’s bay is amazing. They accommodated my celiac issues with skill and experience.

We went to the Flying Otter for wing night. The place is very well located beside the HAVN spa and the Harbour Air station in the downtown harbour area.

The views of the harbour from the terrace are outstanding. That said it is a very busy restaurant that doesn't fit necessarily a romantic outing.

The restaurant has an above average gluten free menu for those looking for breaded chicken wings etc. that is a wonderful place for that.

The drinks are prices on the high side of things unless going during happy hour. That said the drinks we tried were good.

One thing to note it can be quite cold inside the restaurant during the winter season. Yes the terrace is / was warmer than inside the heated lamps doing the job. I suggest an extra layer clothing just in case. Again the place is right on the water winds can carry quite a bit cold

My partner and I went for dinner here as a last minute decision. It was amazing. Holden was 5/5 service. We were never looking for him, he was always right there. He was the best server me and my partner have ever had!!
Food has super large portions, so worth the price.
Of your debating going here, do it!!

Tried to visit this place, on of my favourites, well within their business hours (weekend at 6:30pm). Unfortunately all doors were locked.

We've been here twice in 2025. The atmosphere is nice and clean, view of the harbour planes and right on the water in the inner harbour. Beer pints are generally $3-$4 more than we're used to seeing downtown, some more upscale prices like this are found elsewhere though. The french fries were crispy bottom of the fryer leftovers it seemed, my friend's food was lacklustre as well. Noted to the friendly staff that the Strongbow cider is listed as 500ml but delivered as 440ml. Said they would fix menu, haven't been back to check.
Would recommend for the interesting harbour view.

Great little spot right by the water in downtown Victoria .The service was great with a good selection of food. The fish and chips were a hit, along with the seafood linguine and especially the seafood paella. The prices seemed reasonable for the location and quality of food. Would recommend this place.
