Our server was friendly and the food was decent. On the pricier end and nothing exceptional, but was solid

We had lunch here on a Wednesday and sat out on the patio which has a great view of the harbour and float planes coming and going. I ordered the halibut fish and chips which tasted good but felt a little too greasy. Our son had the chicken fingers with fries and he was happy with it. The only downside was that it took quite a while for the server to come by and take our order even though it was not that busy at the time. The location is really nice though and makes it a good spot to relax by the water while having a casual meal.

Truly a fantastic restaurant and Location-Location. Excellent service and tasty food, we sat on the patio and had awesome views watching Seaplanes takeoff/land. You must make room for dessert as their Sticky Toffee Pudding is out-of-this-world.

We visit the Flying Otter Grill every time we are in Victoria and it is always a delightful experience. We had a lovely lunch and were seated by the windows with great views of seaplanes coming and going. The hostess was very accommodating with getting our family seated although they had a bigger group coming in with a reservation. I thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free fish and chips, being celiac...good sized portions. Our waitress was very attentive to children and my dietary needs. A lovely location and parking is usually no problem although it does require payment.

Drove there after a long day of touring only to be told that they are actually not in fact pet friendly as several posts about their establishment claim. The server we spoke to said she’s not sure why they actually aren’t pet friendly and that only service dogs are allowed. When we tried to ask for the washroom before we left( we thought we were dining in) the servers tried to ignore us, which we felt was kinda rude. They did let us in and we left with no incident, but definitely worth sharing that they are actually not pet friendly, so don’t waste you’re time going there if you have your pet with you.

The location was great, with a beautiful view right on the harbor. The food and service were decent overall. However, it was frustrating that we weren’t told upfront which menu items were unavailable—naturally, we tried to order a couple of them and had to rethink our choices while already quite hungry. We then had to wait for our server to return before placing a new order. Altogether, it took over an hour to receive our food, which felt excessive considering we only ordered an appetizer, a salad, and two relatively simple entrées. With so many excellent dining options in Victoria, I wouldn’t choose to come back.

We didn't even end up eating here. Waited 30 minutes to be seated. Only to be put in what felt like a sauna. And in full sun. When I asked for another table they refused but offered me a blanket to cover myself from the sun. We were 5 people and left, it was too hot to eat in the area they tried to seat us in.

We happened to stop over for an early dinner on a rainy afternoon. My halibut sandwich was creatively prepared and presented with a choice of fries or salad. My partners choice of 3 blackened salmon tacos also had a choice of sides. Service was attentive and timely while this location is ideally located for anyone using the seaplane basin.

Kudos to Flying Otter employee Cassidy for going above and beyond when I called with an administrative request (I needed a copy of a receipt from the past month) and without hesitation she was very helpful providing me with the documentation. It made my job so much easier - thank you Cassidy! Great service.

We went a couple of times in the last month. We like that they have gluten-free fish and chips available! We decided to try it because they offer a 20% discount for Harbour Air passengers - though the wait staff seemed totally unaware of that, which we found odd because I feel like Harbour Air probably drives a lot of their business. Service was slow, but friendly. We might return.
