Friends of Dorothy - Victoria

Back in December of 2025, I came here with my partner and as we entered my partner asked staff if they were serving food. The staff told us their kitchen was closed which was no problem at all. However, later that evening while my partner was in the bathroom I watched this staff member along with another mock the way my partner spoke, specifically in reference to her question about if food was being served, with a “what, have you never been here before?” No, we actually never have been here before, and now will not return.

I sat on leaving this review for months because I understand how challenging it can be for small businesses to operate and as a queer person I really try to support other queer spaces, but for it to still bother me to the point where I am writing this in May 2026 emphasizes how little tact the staff working that night displayed.

It's everything your favourite movies told you life in your 20s would be, and more! Beautiful people, great entertainment, delicious food and cocktails, this place has it all! The thoughtful design and the kind people make coming here a delight!

Great queer place but food is avarage and the service is always bad. Takes ages to get to order and attention from server. You have to ask for things like a glass and ketchup

Hosted us for our shared 50th Bday Celebration and we couldn’t have been more happier! The FOD Team was excellent in every way from service, entertainment, food and venue we were treated like rock stars! A true gem in our city and we love FOD as part of our Lower Johnson business community.

In town on a cruise during pride and wanted to find a place to grab a drink. Loved FOD! Fun vibe, delicious drinks, and great staff.

If you are wanting a taste of Victoria's vibrant drag scene or a taste of their beautifully colourful cocktails, this is the place to be! There is a cozy covered patio with a fireplace, so a good place to be all year round. There are drag shows every weekend, along with a variety of different shows peppered throughout the week. You gotta go!

This bar is pretty fun. Coming from Vancouver, I think it's a better experience than The Junction. Smaller, cleaner and more wholesome, but still has fun events and shows to attend. Haven't tried the karaoke night, but looks great.

Interior interesting. Weird patio kind of area inside. Overall, cozy to sit in.

Drinks good. I appreciate the variety in non-alcoholic options. The coconut drink was not too sweet or fruity, just right.

Cool there's also a Kelowna location: havent tried yet. Would definitely recommend for LGBT people in Victoria.
