Coming from Ontario, restsurants here in Victoria are pretty much not to par ... but Golden City Restaurant is an exception. The food was great and I love how it has meals for the numbers of guests where you can select your dishes. Great food.

We stumbled upon Golden City Restaurant during our visit to Victoria’s Chinatown and it turned out to be such a warm, satisfying stop. The place has that bustling, old-school charm: lively conversations at every table, the clinking of tea cups, and the comfort of red tablecloths.

The service was quick and friendly even though the restaurant was busy. The dishes came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor - exactly what you want from classic Chinese cooking. Everything...

My girlfriend and I had the Braised Pork with preserved vegetable in soya sauce, and rice. I forgot to take a pictures. It was moist soft...and needles to say...very delicious. I highly recommend trying this dish. Just sorry I didn't take photo's....UPDATE. photo of the dinner
