Such fantastic food, presentation, service! Sit at the bar if you can to watch the chefs at work, as they are a marvel to watch. If sushi is what you're looking for in Victoria, this is the place to go, hands down!

Traveling to Victoria, I had the most delicious Japanese sushi. The portions are generous and the price is not expensive at all. I definitely recommend giving it a try?

I went there for lunch. It has a nice interior, very clean, large sushi menu with reasonable prices, and the staff are friendly and provided great service.

Very cute and cozy atmosphere combined with really good and authentic sushi made Gozen the prefect lunch date. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Victoria.

Nice variety of Japanese cuisine.I came here specifically eager to try the sushi and ended up going with the Sushi and Maki Gozen. It’s clear that the chefs know what they are doing when it comes to the technique, but unfortunately I found most of the raw fish to be somewhat bland here. A hint of that for me was drenching the spicy tuna roll with spicy mayo/sauce - quality sushi shouldn’t need the extra shenanigans if you ask me!What’s notable is the large variety of foods on the menu, from noodles to soups to sushi to tempura. But, in all honesty, the Gozen was quite dissatisfying. The beef side dish was a confusing addition to a sushi plate, and the fruit plate (“dessert”?) was laughable… take a look at the picture of it.Worth mentioning the very sweet customer service, but unfortunately at this price I can find so much better quality sushi and Japanese food in town.

Me and my class went here for supper. At Gozen, I found myself immersed in a sushi symphony that left my taste buds serenaded. The chef's dedication to perfection was evident in every meticulously crafted piece. From the first delicate bite of sashimi to the intricate dance of flavors in their specialty rolls, each dish was a personal journey. The ambiance, with its subtle elegance, complemented the culinary experience. Gozen isn't just a sushi place; it's a heartfelt expression of culinary artistry that will linger in your memory. Also, Jade is a great server.

This place is a keeper. Service and food were very good. They have quite an extensive menu, which I thought might be problematical, but it was not. We will definitely be back.

I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the Gosen House Roll. From the moment it arrived at my table, I was captivated by its stunning presentation. Each roll was meticulously crafted, showcasing the chef's attention to detail. Not only was the presentation impressive, but the taste and quality of the rolls were outstanding. The combination of flavors and textures was delightful, and it truly showcased the skill and expertise of the sushi chefs at Gozen. In addition to the exceptional quality, the price of the Gosen House Roll was quite reasonable. I found it to be a great value considering the high-quality ingredients and the overall dining experience. It's not often that you come across such a beautifully presented and delicious sushi roll at such a decent price point. While the Gosen House Roll stole the show, I also tried the Salmon Don during my visit. While it was enjoyable, it didn't quite measure up to the level of the house roll. The salmon was fresh, but I found the flavors to be relatively standard and not as innovative or exciting as the house roll. Nonetheless, it was still a solid option for those who prefer a simpler and more traditional sushi dish. The service at Gozen Sushi Bar was commendable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that I had a pleasant dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided recommendations when needed. I appreciated their promptness in attending to my needs without being intrusive.Overall, Gozen Sushi Bar is a restaurant that I would highly recommend to sushi enthusiasts. The Gosen House Roll is a must-try, thanks to its stunning presentation and exceptional taste. The price point is reasonable, considering the quality of the rolls. While the Salmon Don was not as impressive, it still offered a decent option for those seeking a simpler sushi dish. The service was attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience.Give Gozen Sushi Bar a visit if you're looking for a delightful sushi experience.

Very much enjoy the generous and varied gozen lunch items. May go to is the spicy tuna and sushi option. Today it came with small portion okazu bowls of curried chicken, pickles, spring roll, prawn and veggie tempura, miso soup, plus spicy tuna rolls and three nigiri (salmon, tuna, shrimp). A small plate with three large globe grapes and a slice of sweet melon to finish. Super good.Service is always friendly and fast but not rushed feeling. They always ask if any allergy concerns.Last time I asked, people with peanut allergies might be at risk.

We stopped in because a couple we know said it was their favourite sushi spot in Victoria so we went with expectations of great food and service. It was a Friday night and we were looking for a relaxing evening after the workweek. We found the food was fine, but nothing stood out as great. The agedashi tofu was a bit bland and the portion size was half the size of anywhere else we’ve had it. We always try a restaurant’s agedashi tofu and so we have lots to compare it to. We ordered three dishes plus a large house sake. The sake arrived very quickly and right behind it was the small plate of agedashi tofu. It was served so fast, it was almost as if it had been pre-prepared, but that wasn’t the case as it was fresh and hot. While we were eating the agedashi tofu, the specialty roll arrived and then quickly after the seafood yakiudon was served. It all came so quickly it felt like we were at a fast food restaurant and not a full service restaurant. As we ate each course the plates were quickly whisked away. Next we were offered our bill. We had eaten and were back out on the sidewalk within 30 mins! The restaurant wasn’t full and so we’re puzzled why we felt rushed to eat and go. We definitely won’t be going back as fast food sushi in a sit down restaurant isn’t our style of dining. We parted with a good chunk of change in 30mins.
