I recall visiting this place >5 years ago for the buffet. Ordered the chicken fried rice and it was really different from the traditional version. Felt more like - seasoned chicken over rice! It had a lot of vegetables like broccoli and red peppers that is usually not the norm. Still the flavours were good and they also offered complementary spring rolls which was a nice touch. The owners are super warm and welcoming as well, how can I rate any lower than 5 stars now! :D

Tonight I brought my mom and aunt to the Hope Key restaurant. My mom and aunt had a daily special and I ordered a combination plate; our food was absolutely delicious! The vegetables were cooked but still crispy. The prawns were delicious and cooked in a light tempura batter. Everything was delicious, but the best part of the day was the two owners who provided great service and were so friendly and kind to us visitors from out of town. The next time I’m in Victoria I will be coming in to eat again!! Thank you both for your kindness and a memorable evening :)

My wife and I dropped into the restaurant while walking near Chinatown and the shopping district. It was the best dining experience of our entire trip. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and fun. Most important, the food was delicious! They have been in business for 20 years. If you like Chinese food and want to leave a meal with a smile on your face, this is the place to go!

WOW!!! Seriously this place is a GEM. Our friends picked the spot for dinner, and we had no idea what a treat we were in for! The owners really made us feel so welcomed and are such sweethearts, the atmosphere is incredible, and the food is amazing! Great vegetarian options. Stopped in for a quick bite while on a cruise ship stop. They ( the staff, owners, family) immediately welcomed my wife and I. My wife has some food allergies that they happily worked around to create a delicious dinner for her. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
