I’ve been to Johns place a couple of times but unfortunately had a negative experience recently. Johns is usually classic establishment.
We waited more than and hour and half after ordering our food. We followed up a couple of times to ask and they mentioned that it was a new chef in the kitchen. We watched other people get seated after us, order and get their food, pay and leave!
They did apologize and gave us two cappucinos they accidentally made as a sorry. We don’t drink dairy and couldn’t enjoy them.

Thank you Google. We miss the breakfast/lunch/brunch places of downtown Vancouver. Just moved to Esquimalt and now we have our favourite place thanks to Google. Great service, friendly, quirky, lots of good food. Had the English breakfast, excellent, loved the cornbread and the potato pancakes, partner ordered bacon and eggs, giant tomato slices, great toast. We'll be back. Love the cornbread. Still great 5 months later. Put more seasoning on the home style potatoes Thank you Liz great service

John’s Place is a breakfast lover’s heaven. Their pancakes are absolutely out of this world, and the Benedicts are a must-try. The service is great, and the food tastes even better. You never get bored waiting because the walls are covered in endless, fun photos to look at. Truly an amazing place!

Super cute kinda old school brunch spot. Food was absolutely delicious, prices phenomenal. They were busy so we had quite a wait, but the service made up for that. All the staff were super friendly especially our server who was very personable and covered our drinks because of the wait. Portions are huge and are great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Super delicious! It was so busy on a Monday morning so it seems to be a local favourite! I went for their bbq sauce, meat, and mushroom eggs benny on sandwich bread and it was so tasty and unique! Would definitely come back when I visit Victoria again!
