I honestly don’t understand the hype. I got the spicy miso tonkotsu ramen. It was just okay.

The broth is too thick for my liking. Someone wrote that it felt like a flavourless thickening agent was added. I agree and I think they are boiling the noodles in the soup which releases the wheat from it into the broth. I don’t prefer this method or the effect of that.

I also don’t prefer the straight wheat noodles. This is personal preference....
We had a great time at Kizuna!

The price for ramen is higher than other locations in Victoria, but I think Kizuna's quality and portion size are arguably worth it.

I am very picky about ramen and haven't liked most of the ramen I've had in Victoria (Kuma noodle is probably my favourite but I've had better other places). This place has finally broken Victoria's streak of mediocre ramen. The black garlic tonkotsu broth was deep, rich and flavourful and the meat was tender and delicious.
