I’ve been to L’apéro a few times now, and I’m always so pleased with it. A great selection of cheese and wine, you cannot go wrong (highly recommend a glass of the Chablis!). They offer some really fun courses and multi course dinners on occasion. Check it out either by dropping by on a weekday evening for a drink or stop in to purchase some cheese to take home.

L'Apero is one of the small gems of the Victoria food scene. Their unique menu offering Raclette and Fondue is not to be missed. I have been here both for Raclette and Fondue and have never been disappointed. The food was flavourful and delicious with interesting combinations. They have a great selection of good wines.Great spot for a date night or a small intimate dinner with friends. The restaurant is quite small, so lends itself to small groups of 2-4 people.The also have a great selection of items to take out: charcuteries boards, cheese boards, and picnic boxes.

A great dinner with friends (group if 6). Excellent food, especially if you like cheese-inspired dishes. Solid wine list. Very warm, attentive, and personal service. Staff is willing to take the time to discuss menu and wine options so that you get the right combination for you. Minimalist atmosphere is a little stark for my taste, but this is a minor issue to the overall experience. Wonderful evening!

I ordered Take out after proprietor offered us an unused plate at the Opera. Very very good. Will use L'Apero in the future for appetizer plates in the future.

The culinary experience is outstanding! The service I received was kind, friendly, knowledgeable about their products, and attentive. The space is open, welcoming, and elegant without lacking warmth. I cannot wait to return to Victoria to revisit for a meal or two, but definitely a wine/cheese pairing!

Booked a reso for 4 pm Tuesday Agugust 8th,in their website. Arrived at 4 pm and there was nobody in the restaurant , only few tables ready with some cheese and charcuterie that we found intriguing. We were welcomed by a woman, rapidly she instated that they close at 5 pm. Wich I already knew from their website. And told her I placed a reservation.Which she never asked my name btw. Both , me and my partner work I'm the food industry and we know how it works. Arriving 10 minutes before closing could be a bummer for the kitchen, but we didn't do that , we arrive 1 hour before and wasnt a walk in was a reservation placed.. I did some research and I was really excited because I wanted to surprise my boyfriend that he really enjoys the apero have some cocktails and enjoy the menu. From the beggining we felt we were rushed and it totally affected the hole experience. While we were deciding our options;there was a food tour that poped by and was really cool to hear all the information and interesting facts. Something that we didnt have "the knowledge or explanation about what will be having for dinner to make it a experince to remember", something that was rated in the good comments in TripAdvisor. We ordered the cheese platter "la petite" 2 cheeses +1 meat, and a pate. We received la petite (lovely plate), brief explanation of the cheeses, and server left, asked her before leaving what was the jam, which she replied raspberry but it was strawberry and my boyfriend is allergic to it good thing I tasted first. Didn't realized right away but ,we did receive 3 cheese only, so my partner asked for it, what was replied" I will bring it back". No apologize or anything of the matter. When we received the meat we asked what it was , which the reply was "just salami" . For our surprise we replied just salami? Reply: yes just salami. I asked if we could have where was this salami from ,which she said she will ask at the back but we never had an answer for. Good was great , cocktails were amazing unfortunately service was dissapointing and ruined dinner. The server was barely present, never touched table even after finished our cocktails, so my partner finally got her for us to have a glass of wine At 4:55 pm she appeared with the card machine , not even asked if we needed or wanted to order something else. Felt akward and left 5 minutes after 5.Not able to finish and enjoy our lovely wine. Poor service ,poor experience. I hope the service improves, unfortunately not coming back.

Oh my gosh, this was such a gem! I was searching for fondue (I know, it’s summertime!) and came across this place. While they only do fondue in winter, their Raclette dish was perfect for my craving! Their wine selections are FABULOUS. My husband had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese and was blown away by how delicious it was. The owner served our wine and helped us with our selection… knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience. Great food and wine. I would even say this place is a MUST when in Victoria!

This little hidden gem is just wonderful! The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Everything from start to finish was spot on. We each had the raclette sandwich, a lovely glass of Barbebelle Rose and an absolutely delicious trio of chocolate truffles for dessert. The presentation, service and the quality of the food was superb. I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend L' Apero Wine and Cheese Bistro.
