I went through the drive thru at a Sidney location by the ferry and they forgot to put a hashbrown in my child’s breakfast happy meal. I stopped here at this location on the way home to ask if they’d replace it for me, as turning around and driving 30 minutes back to Sidney was not an option. And immediately was told no sorry can’t help you. Disappointing to say the least considering McDonald’s is a billion dollar company and a hashbrown is 10 cents? So $2.89 wasted. And felt a bit of a rude interaction from employee.

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent experience I had at the McDonald’s on Shelbourne. What was once a well-run and welcoming location has unfortunately deteriorated in quality, professionalism, and overall atmosphere.

To begin with, the food I received was poorly prepared — burgers were smashed and sloppily assembled, far from the quality I used to expect from this store. It looked rushed and careless, not up to McDonald’s standards.

Additionally, the staff appeared unprofessional. There was little regard for customer service, and I noticed most of the team communicating only among themselves in Tagalog, which can feel isolating for customers who don’t understand the language. While I respect all cultures and languages, a professional work environment — especially in customer service — should encourage inclusive and clear communication.

What stood out even more was the store manager — she was not in uniform, wore no name tag, and looked more like someone working from home than a leader managing a team in a global brand’s branch. This lack of professionalism reflects poorly on the entire store.

This location used to be a great example of diversity and teamwork, with a staff that was engaged, presentable, and attentive. Now it feels more like a disorganized outlet with minimal oversight, far from what I expect from McDonald’s — especially in Canada.

It’s genuinely disappointing to see how far this store has declined. I hope McDonald’s takes this feedback seriously and considers retraining staff, enforcing proper dress codes, and encouraging a more professional, customer-focused work culture.

Hence, you should thank me for taking the time writing you this review. I hope you learn from this.

Always get the food wrong. Not once has my order ever been correct at this location. I'll make a point to go to the hillside location from now on. At least they can do something right over there.

My order through came cold and completely wrong and missed items! Bad costumer service! I had order Big Mac combo and Cheese Burger with bacon, but the Big came with no meat, and the cheese burger was missing the bacon and fries (that is included in the combo)! I am really unsatisfied with that service and the Uber Eats Service!

It's McDonald's so this is the fast food scale. This location is nice and bright and clean. I saw a staff member hustling and they were really nice. The food came out quick and was fresh, can't really complain at all.

Bring the chicken Mcdo!!!!!!!!!!! You guys will run KFC outta business if you bring the chicken Mcdo with rice!!!!!! There is an ongoing GROWING Philippino community and I think others would grow to enjoy this product!! Push for it, send this to corporate please. Just imagine all of your restaurants packed just like they are in the PHILIPPINES, you need FAMILY MEAL sized fries at a competitive price!!! SELL BUCKETS OF CHICKEN TOO AS A FAMILY MEAL. This ECONOMY needs it and would bring more family’s out to eat!! Forget a kids meal, what about a FAMILY meal!!!!!!!!!

This McDonald’s location has consistently disappointed me with frequent mistakes in my orders. Most recently, I had an issue with a wrap I purchased a few days ago and paid for with cash. I called in to address the problem, and a staff member took my name and number, assuring me that the issue was noted in a book and that I would receive a replacement wrap during my next visit.

However, when I returned, I was met with unhelpful and rude service from a manager named Rachel. She insisted I provide a code that was never given to me during the phone call. After a frustrating back-and-forth over a wrap worth roughly $9, I decided to go home to look for a receipt—only to realize I was never given one. I made the mistake of trusting their word over the phone.

This experience reflects a serious lack of customer service and accountability. As someone who lives just around the corner and has been a regular customer, I expected better. I plan to escalate this issue further and will be mentioning the manager by name. At this point, it’s not even about the money—it’s about the principle of keeping your word and treating customers with respect.
