Visiting Vancouver Island from Edmonton, where there are a ton of great pho places. As an Asian who can't go too long without Asian food, I happened upon Pho Tru when walking around and it definitely lived up to expectations. The food came out piping hot and broth was deep and flavourful, just the way I like it. Service was fast, too. Would come back!
We ordered two dishes:
1. Steak, Brisket, Tripe, Tendon, and Oxtail
The soup was flavorful and the meat was decent overall. However, the steak wasn’t fully cooked because the pot wasn’t hot enough to cook it properly. Aside from that, everything was nice, and none of the meats were overdone.
2. Tofu Spring Rolls
These were fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. Nothing was overdone, and we really enjoyed them.

This place is always rock solid and personally I think the best Viet subs in Victoria. Bobby in the front has the best customer service skills. Its always the best when he’s working, extra care, attention, and 11/10 service skills. Garlic Pork Sausage sub with extra sauce is the move. Love this spot!
