Woman taking the order didn’t give it to the kitchen and I had to wait (this is what their staff told me happened, it isn’t speculation). Not a big deal, things happen, but they were utterly reluctant to make it right. I figured a few bucks off to acknowledge their mistake would be fine (5-10%ish). I wasn’t pushy, just giving them a chance to offer customer service. She instead threatened to take the food away if I didn’t want to pay full price. It was like a reverse Karen move. Fine, you get the money this time, but there won’t be a next time. Food is ok. Probably fine if you’re getting your food delivered, but if you have to interact with staff I recommend going elsewhere.

The food generally looked old and stale at 4:30 pm on a Saturday. It generally presented as old, soggy, mushy, tepidly warm, bland in flavour, and colourless slop.I had to hunt for and finally ask for a napkin that was provided begrudgingly and without apology from an area not accessible to customers. They were clearly understaffed and had no table service of any kind - not even water. One couple had to approach a staff person for a pot of tea and cups.Tables were bussed only when no more tables were available.Multiple tables were wiped down and not sanitzed with any spray cleaner, and with the same filthy grey cloth kept in a large stainless steel mixing bowl. The bowl also served as a bussing container for used guest plates and cutlery.I found battered deep fried items over-coated and undercooked, and found raw coating batter in three chicken balls. The ginger beef was shriveled, overcooked and hard to chew.Chow Mein appeared slimy and comprised only of Noodles with trace amounts of sprouts. Most of the buffet was under serviced, with many empty dish containers empty and or dried up with traces of what was in them.Dessert items did not appear fresh or inviting, but moreso a factory produced grade that would likely be found at a highway gas station. It was not worth the $27.00 charge. I tipped reluctantly.

Today we ordered from Purple Garden, I am disappointed to say that the quality has declined. My family ordered several dishes that were greasy and flavorless. The deep-fried prawns were drowning in thick batter, clearly used to disguise the small size of the shrimp. They were hard on the outside and rough dough on the inside. The almond chicken, typically a standout dish, was bland and lacking its signature flavor profile. Even simple sides like chow mein and veggies were soaked in oil, making them unpalatable. I cannot recommend eating here unless they remedy these issues with fresh, high-quality ingredients and balanced cooking.

I ate here a number of times back in 2012 and enjoyed the food, even recommended it to friends...... Tonight my wife and I got take out and the results were.... disappointing to say the least. The Deep Fried Prawns were over cooked on the outside while undercooked on the inside and yet the prawn was cooked....The Spring roll were like food grenades, a single bite and you were wearing the rest of it as they were so over cooked. The Almond Chicken was like Crispy Dowey Shoe Leather..... and the one piece that fell on the floor, the dog grabbed it then spit it out and whimpered ........ even the dog wouldn't eat it.The Chop Suey.... about half (if we were lucky) had sauce. The only recommendation I have now is feed this to unwanted guests in hopes they will leave.

The last remaining Chinese buffet in Victoria. This place does not disappoint with lots of hot and fresh food options. Many protein options including pepper beef, chicken drumsticks, S&S pork, chicken chop suey, pork potstickers, honey garlic ribs, won tons, pork lettuce wraps, chicken balls and possibly other I've missed. Some of the recent negative reviews on this place are pretty out there. I've been eating at this place for 10 years and I've never experienced what these people are claiming.

Bad all around. No service - they didn't take us to the table, pointed from a distance and said "go in the corner". No heat. It was so cold I had to put my jacket on. When we left and said it was cold he response was "I'mFine". Buffet had just a few pieces in, rice noodles and others were dried. Shrimp was good when they had some. Chicken balls dough was not cooked and greasy. Some veggies ok. Never going back. Waste of money.

For the buffet they serve a couple of different meat dishes but they are mostly all pork. The food is in poor condition and it's a small aisle of choices for example their desserts consist of store bought white and chocolate cake and rice crispy treats and there was only 1 server/cashier working the whole room. My husband and I only had one plate and felt ripped off as they charge $25.99 before tax. And they charge extra if you leave any food on the plates. We won't be returning

The service was "0"Food? 0No napkins if you are a regular.Buffet is without a doubt, the worst anywhere. We've had delivery and it's cold & VERY GREASY ?? We ALL were so sick the last time. Veggies were going pink and spoiling.Don't go, find another place like we are, better yet, go on Facebook for a recipe! If you have a jug of oil, and veggies, you won't be as sick as we were.Sadly said. They used to be good, years ago.

No sauce on anything. How does one order BBQ and receive just plain pork. Actually disappointing I could have done better with my eyes closed.

For a Birthday dinner we decided on Chinese, and we ordered the Super Dinner for 4 for pick up. We got 3 orders of Pork Chow Mein, which neither ourselves or the person taking our order realized wasn't something they had. Instead of contacting us or replacing it with Chicken Chow Mein, they replaced it with Fried Rice, which we didn't order. They didn't say anything about the substitution when my Father picked it up, and we only found out when we opened our food to eat. When we called about the mistake they blamed US, and that they decided we'd get rice instead of Chow mein because they didn't have a Pork version. My Father left to return the rice and get chicken Chow mein instead, when the store called us to demand we bring back the rice (Which we already were doing and was after he'd drove off). When he returned to the store, they demanded HE apologize to them. He wasn't swearing or shouting and yet they treated him extremely poorly through out this entire experience. I've never seen staff treat customers so poorly, especially over a mistake made by the staff. They called us again after he'd left the store with the corrected order to give a half-hearted apology.
