My younger sister and I love sushi and came across Shizen. All employees were lovely and the restaurant is very family-friendly oriented. The food was extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. We had a hard time figuring out what our favourite roll was because they were all so amazing! It’s so nice that it is a local family-owned restaurant. This is our new spot to go.
This is truly one of the best Japanese restaurants out there 😍😍. You can really feel the care and heart that goes into the food. I’ve heard it’s family owned, and it shows. The hot dishes are incredibly comforting, full of flavor, and clearly made with attention to quality. The sushi is also excellent, with plenty of affordable options that don’t compromise on taste.

We have good sushi in Washington, but usually sushi anywhere in BC is next level. Honestly expected better. We ordered bunch of different ones and on all, the fish looked like it's a bit dried up. As if it was cut not 5 minutes ago but more like couple of hours. Service was fine. Location and atmosphere also just fine. Only other things is paper menus. OMG those things were handled by thousand hands. They looked disgusting. Need to print new ones ASAP.
