The problem is that I saw several mice running around the floor and when I brought it up to a server that was nearby, their response was, "yeah we're dealing with it but it's an issue because of the construction". A very nonchalant response. I don't know of a single patron that would be fine with rodents running around their dining room floor and definitely NOT the kitchen! Rodents can carry disease. My review would have been great if there was not this issue....and to Steamship Management...this IS an issue!! It's disgusting and at the very least a manager should have come over to speak with us (the one sitting at the table next to us with her laptop). Sorry for the bad review but it is what it is.

The setting and ambiance are excellent, although the remote toilet facilities are a challenge and detract from the overall impression. Service was good, but uninspired. Food quality was a major disappointment - certainly not at an expected level. We ordered two 7-ounce sirloin northwest dishes. The vegetables were poorly cooked. We asked for the steaks to be cooked medium and medium-rare respectively. They both came cooked medium, bordering on well-done, were tough and tasteless. It seems that the cooks (I can't call them chefs) have learned the rules of the game, but are ignorant of the spirit. We might come again for the environment, but will stick to ordering macaroni and cheese - something that a kid in grade school can cook.

While the food was incredibly delicious, the service was both slow and forgetful. What really disturbed us was the mouse running around the dinning room. When brought to the attention of wait staff they seemed unbothered by it and ignored the mouse. The last straw was when the mouse ran up my leg. I wouldn't go back until the mouse problem is dealt with.

As we were waiting for our check, we saw a mouse scurry across the dining area from the table next to us. Had I seen it before we ate I would have left the restaurant.

We were visiting Victoria with our two interanational high school students during spring break. We had a wonderful dinner at the Steamship Grill and Bar. One of the students is vegetarian and the restaurant has a good selection of plates for her diet. We asked for a table by the window so the girls had a view of our favourite city to visit. Food was delicious, drinks were very good and the staff were fery welcoming. We had a wonderful time!

was here for our anniversary dinner. both ate the same meal aside from only me eating the crab. I don't have shell fish allergies. I was vomiting all night. one can only assume the crab was bad as my partner did not get sick. will not be back to this place again .

We dined here on a Wednesday night, hoping for a fresh seafood dinner, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The cocktails were decent, though a bit pricey.
I ordered calamari, chowder, and shrimp linguine. The calamari was unremarkable—just the standard frozen variety you’d find almost anywhere. The chowder was acceptable, but the shrimp linguine was the real letdown. The shrimp were overcooked, and while the pasta was labeled as linguine, it turned out to be spaghetti instead. While this isn't a huge issue, the pasta had a strange smell, suggesting it might have been on the verge of spoiling. I suspect the kitchen pre-cooks their pasta, portions it out, and then reheats it as needed.
The sauce was overly salty and lacked flavor.
The most alarming part of the dining experience was the frequent sightings of mice scurrying around the dining room floor. This level of rodent activity indicates a serious infestation issue. Overall, this place feels like a tourist trap struggling to stay afloat.

I really enjoyed the food at the Steamship Grill & Bar. I had the Harvest Bowl and it was delicious. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes were generous. I appreciate the variety of meatless choices. The service was very good as well.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of clearly marked options.

Hey, don't judge a restaurant by its reviews. I went there for the first time recently and it was amazing! I almost didn't go because of the reviews, but I'm so glad I did. The food was delicious and the service was great. If you like seafood or steak, this is the best place in town. And the prices are reasonable too.

The grilled shrimp on the Caesar salad was the best we ever had. The fish & chips were delicious!!!! Best ever The service was fast. Friendly servers. Atmosphere very relaxing.
